Washington Post article about Former Farquhar Administrator

This isn't a cover up. The article said nobody reported it for fear of retaliation. Can't cover up something nobody knows about. Hopefully a full investigation will be done.

Dr. McKnight is in one of the divine 9 sororities. They all cover for each other and promote within.

He is in a fraternity. Which are the divine 9? There is a group of central office women who look at for each other. Check out Dr. Handy who was president of their principals' union too. Known to help her sisters out.

What's with the sorority and the fraternity members at the central office?! I know PG has a strong sorority connection and if you are a sister you can move up. I used to work in education and saw that frequently.

So what?

All the principals from the feeder schools attend the high school graduation. It doesn’t mean anything.

eric and joel are good friends. eric minus is Joel's boss and covered up for him. Eric was contacted by the teachers and he blew them off.

What will an apology do? It’s just lip service.

Because she’s not sorry!!!

An apology would be insulting. She needs to leave.

This. What a disruption to their education this circus is. Mcps owes these kids better

Alexandra - this could be a different angle to cover and it combines two of your books nicely!

You are a typical MCPS insider moron. The article reports numerous past complaints filed with others failing to report due to concerns about retaliation. There is something about current MCPS leadership that is absolutely rotten to the core. McKnight need to be fired like yesterday.

It was reported, over and over. What I can’t figure out is how the “investigator” had copies of the sexually explicit texts and still determined that harassment hadn’t taken place??

And so did Jerry Weast, Jack Smith and others in the same role.

Name a similar situation involving Weast or Smith. We’ll wait.

The suggestion that it’s “our turn” to have a corrupt and/or incomplete superintendent sounds like Marion Barry-era excuse making. And it’s what a lot of families were hoping to avoid by moving to MoCo.

There were child predators protected in MCPS under both Weast and Smith.

This is different for a number of reasons including:
1. This is post MeToo
2. The predator complaints didn't go to the high level directly by the accuser
3. The accused weren't promotes into more powerful positions over the victim pool by the people whonwere directly aware of the complaints.

This is Watergate level coverup

You haven’t been paying attention post me too.

Predator complaints went all the way to the top, meaning superintendent and board.

You missed the promotions.

It makes you feel better to pretend this is all new, that is your choice but it is fantasy.

Because they are complicit and should be fired too. They failed the teachers and staff.

I had a really problematic situation with my then-principal and after reading this article am so glad I didn't bother filing a formal complaint at the time. I left the county instead and probably spared myself a lot of heartache. I would have been gas-lit into oblivion. I felt bad at the time that I didn't report and potentially protect colleagues, but I think it would have done nothing to help others. I have no idea if others were harmed, but the guy is still principal at that same school.

More likely the bosses nixed it and made them do the dirty work of sending the denial letter.
