Person was dispatched in 14 minutes. I think you have your timeline wrong.

14 minutes passed between the 911 call and the suspected shooter's death
10:13 a.m.: Nashville Police receive a call of an active shooter inside Covenant School
10:27 a.m. The suspected shooter is declared dead

I'm the PP. This is correct.

For all of you gun lovers out there, thought you'd enjoy reading about what AR-15s can do to a human body. Read all about how AR-15 bullets tore apart 6 year old Noah Pozner's little body and destroyed 15 year old Peter Wang's head. I'm sure you will appreciate what your beloved gun is capable of! (The images are sanitized but I'm sure you can use your imagination)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/interactive/2023/ar-15-damage-to-human-body/?tid=ss_tw

The AR-15 fires bullets at such a high velocity — often in a barrage of 30 or even 100 in rapid succession — that it can eviscerate multiple people in seconds. A single bullet lands with a shock wave intense enough to blow apart a skull and demolish vital organs. The impact is even more acute on the compact body of a small child.

“It literally can pulverize bones, it can shatter your liver and it can provide this blast effect,” said Joseph Sakran, a gunshot survivor who advocates for gun violence prevention and a trauma surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

During surgery on people shot with high-velocity rounds, he said, body tissue “literally just crumbled into your hands.”

The combined energy of those bullets created exit wounds so “gaping” that the autopsy described his head as “deformed.” Blood and brain splatter were found on his upper body and the walls. That degree of destruction, according to medical experts, is possible only with a high-velocity weapon.

Thoughts and prayers, but certainly no actionable changes

Faux News bobble head just said it’s because “SIDE DOORS”. If we could just control those now going forward, we could prevent this type of thing from happening in the future. SIDE DOORS.

If the side door was not locked, it's a lesson sadly unlearned.

You’re still buying the incompetent Uvalde PD’s BS about the door? It wasn’t propped open.

Doesn't matter who the shooter is. They had access to a gun and committed a mass murder that included innocent children, just as our nation has had many, many other mass shootings along with all other forms of gun violence and we continue to do nothing.

Conservatives will continue to do nothing and if the shooter is trans (not confirmed at this time), perfect example of how they will continue to deflect from ACTUAL SOLUTIONS THAT WILL SAVE LIVES.

Stop the deflection and start with solutions.

I agree that it's guns, but it's also kind of men. Men are responsible for (and are the victims of) most of the gun violence.

Anyone else that we should be afraid of according to Republicans?
Pretty much anyone except someone with mental illness and a gun

What if it was carried out by an ultra liberal lunatic who hates the conservative faith community?

My bet is the woman was a former student who was abused by someone at the school. Political persuasion is not relevant.

We can’t control people but we can guns.

These folks going on about unlocked doors remind me of the scene in "the Jerk" where the shooter keeps missing and hitting the oil cans. "Get away from the cans. He hates cans!"

This is an unfair criticism. And you could say the same thing about alcohol and marijuana. How many children have to die because of legal alcohol and marijuana? School shootings, while tragic, are extremely rare. Drunk drivers kill around 10,000 people per year in the US, every fkn year. And yet, there is no hysteria or calls to ban alcohol. But when there is a shooting, the problem is guns and we need door to door confiscation. Why?

Identity of shooter confirmed by NBC.

A lot of people have died since the Supreme Court "discovered" that the well regulated militia provision of the Bill of Rights was actually talking about an individual right to own guns. A bit of the Framers' intent that had some how eluded the Justices until 2008.

There was a hysterical call to ban alcohol, and it dramatically increased violent crime. BTDT.

You can only control guns that are LEGAL. You can only infringe on freedoms of law abiding citizens. You can't do anything about criminals, who will retain have access to their guns. Hey, lets make some more laws to punish law abiding gun owners, especially those who own those scary looking rifles.

I have known people who died in two different mass shootings. We tried a ban on alcohol. Let’s try one on guns! Only then will I agree it’s an unfair criticism.
