Here comes the spin from "no big deal, it’s a balloon" to "great job shooting it dow, rah, rah". If it needed to be shot down now, it should have been done 2 days ago. Can’t be both.

Yep. Or, even sooner.
This is shameful.

Because of the danger of it hitting people on its way down. This is why it was shot down over the ocean. A brain is a terrible waste of space unless it is used!

Maybe US intelligence didn't know they had to get your advice because you are so knowledgeable about all things.

There was opportunity early on to down this thing with no danger to anyone on the ground. But, Biden and his advisors dithered.

It’s idiotic because they say over the ocean they won’t be able to recover the sensor device as we would have been able to do if the debris was over land—-unpopulated land when it first appeared.. They say over that much ocean and from that height very little to nothing over ocean will be recovered. We need that cargo to see what they had, what they are doing.

Big sky country is where it should have been taken down.

Apparently the local white national militia voted that. Republicans were afraid the Chinese would retaliate and cut their funding.

Aww...honey. You are trying to be so cute.

The Republicans had no role in this foreign policy blunder. None at all.

Biden tried to keep the presence of the balloon secret. When that didn't work, they tried to say they couldn't shoot it down due to safety reasons and that debris would cover 400 square miles. That was BS.
They finally shot it down - in an area where it seems not much can be recovered.

Glad it is down. Should have been down days ago. This is another foreign policy failure by Biden. Not Republicans.

On a sliding scale of best to worst outcomes, it is near the worst side of the scale in bad PR, transmitting weakness, having us chasing our tail, having them gain the most intel, making us look like feckless asses and no recovery of remains to see what they were up to.

Do you think these serial failures are by accident? I don't.

Even Nancy Pelosi said this is bad (spying from above).

Are you taking any notes?
