They clearly had some chemistry issues last Spring as they should not have lost to either Bullis or Landon.

When you have too many blue chip recruits on one squad, "hero ball" tends to take over and it becomes less about the collective team.

Perhaps with the Duke LSM at McDonogh for his senior season, Prep will have less drama in the lockeroom.

Their best offensive players play for IG highlights. They aren’t the type of players that can carry a team to a championship.

That's why LSM went to a school that will actually win

why would/ did a committed player switch schools for senior year? who would want to leave friends, etc. in the final year?

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Prep will underachieve this Spring.

It’s turned into “hero ball” at Georgetown Prep

Prep actually played better in the IAC championship than they did earlier in the season and that was without their starting LSM. The above negative comments may be opponents wishful thinking. Not sure I would count them out just yet.

you also had the best fogo in the nation who would win 80% of the draws last Spring. Prep offense won't have nearly the amount of touches they have been accustomed to the past few seasons.

and YES the new FOGO recruited in who is sleeping in your coach's basement won't move the needle.

Bullis will remain as the king in the IAC yet again

Bullis will be the clear favorite to win again. After that, its really a toss up between the Bears and LiL Hoyas.

I also wouldn't rule out the STA Bulldogs from making a run.

They are building something special over there.

They are not building anything special and don't have the top student athlete numbers to ever really compete at the top of the IAC. They have three or four decent rising seniors, the most they have ever had. After that it's back to the usual.

The have six rising seniors committed I think that is way more significant than 3-4 decent players.

STA appears to be climbing the mountain while traditional powers like Landon, Gonzaga, and Saint Stephens appear to have hit a plateau.

SJC and Bullis appear to me to be in a recruiting arms race and I suspect will be competing for DC area bragging rights as the top program for the years to come.

STA will pass Prep soon. The Mater Dei pipeline will shift back to Gonzaga because the school
is is run by Gonzaga people. Also Prep has missed the mark five of the last six years. Expect current Little Hoyas siblings to look elsewhere unless major sweeping changes are made in the building.

We have a son at Mater Dei currently. The impression I get from MD families now is that Prep is the primary destination for MD boys.

Could you elaborate a bit more about this?

Mater Dei has a long history of sending the majority of its boys to Prep. This will continue. Prep is a better school than Gonzaga in may ways, including academics, college matriculation, facilities, etc.

Two just committed to D3. One strong class does not equate to a run for the IAC title or even top 3 ranking. Those same players were on the team last season, where did they end up? Oh yeah, at the bottom of the IAC with Episcopal who they lost to.
