1. M&D Black – The team to beat right now. They look like the clear title favorite.

2. Skywalkers – Undefeated with three wins, though still waiting on a true test.

3. MDU East – Proved they still belong with a tight one-goal loss to M&D Black.

4. BLC Blue – Offensive firepower is evident, but most of the damage has come against mid-tier teams.

5. Coppermine – A pivotal Week 3 ahead with matchups against M&D and BLC that will define their standing and season.

6. Heros Green – Solid so far, with a major test looming against MDU East next week.

7. M&D Red – Two respectable losses against quality opponents; better than their record suggests.

8. YJ DMV – Positioned to build momentum, with a strong chance to add two more wins next week.

9. MDU West – Trending upward and could realistically finish with six wins.

10. M&D DC – Clearly a step above the lower-tier teams, but still looking to break into the next level.

This is a delusional list.

Skywalkers is a middle-of-the-pack team all day. YJ DMV would smoke M&D Red. M&D DC is bad. HG is too low. MDU West is not good.

There are 2-3 teams who are elite. 2-3 teams who are very good and could snag the elite teams on the right day. Everyone else is cannon fodder.

Is that pattern still real? The club has obviously changed a lot in the last few years. And there's now more options than ever with other big clubs. I know it was the case 5-10 years ago, but I'm not sure it's continuing.

BLC is a top team. Not sure what this is about. They should lose to MnD & MDU. Their ranking will be tested in those games. Coppermine has improved so that will be a good test. Would have been great to see them play HG.

Yes, pattern is real if you look at 26 & 27 recruiting

Has Coppermine improved after losing their top two players to M&D? Not bashing them but curious about that statement.

It took a minute but the team is looking good. I wouldn’t say the 2 players that left were the top 2. There are some really good girls still left on that team

They’ve gotten much better. They didn’t lose two best but picked up better players.

Coppermine may have lost a couple girls to M&D but the remainder of the team is still quite good. Also they are a team of hard workers that is constantly improving. Those girls are at everything. So yes they can get better even after losing a couple players

Coppermine is average.

Here’s how I would reorder:

1) M&D Black
2) MDU
3) HG
4) BLC
5) Skywalkers
6) Coppermine
7) M&D Red or vice versa
8) YJ DMV or vice versa

I think Skywalkers has gotten lucky. They aren’t better than Coppermine. Those girls are getting better.

1) M&D Black - solid and consistent. Great coaching. New talent added. Could be unbeatable if they would trim one or two players who aren’t as good as the others but are protected because being great friends with the coaches kids
2) MDU - keeps the same girls and same plays which is why Black is going to top them this year
3) HG - have some strong talent but also have a few who aren’t that good but will never be cut. Could be better if they got rid of the dead weight
4) BLC - Lost their best player to M&D two years ago. Girls have already begun to transition since they don’t have a high school team
5) Coppermine - team is definitely playing stronger and better than last year. Not strong enough to break the top tier yet
6) Skywalkers - They are truly not a #5 team. They were tied with M&D Red until the last couple minutes of the game.
7) M&D Red - got a new player from Black. Goalies are much better. Got rid of problem coach. Gave Skywalkers and Coppermine a tough time
8) YJ DMV - Strong group of DC/Bethesda girls with talent. Bright future

This seems right

Skywalkers parents determined to prove they better than the top Maryland teams. They played a soft schedule in the fall, play a soft NGLL schedule until final 3 games. I would be surprised to see them better than a 5-3 record.

Must be a M&D Black parent writing this…

My granddaughter plays for Hero’s green. What was said is true. There are some girls on green who should be playing for the white team. Because their parents buy everything for the team and volunteer to do so much, they keep them but don’t play them as much as the other girls. Would be better served to get better players.
