Wanted to get some insight on this. How many folks pay off their complete credit card balances each month? Or, asked another way, do you ever revolve the balance on any of your credit card accounts? This would not include any deals, such as revolving because you got a no interest deal for a couple months. Not concerned about that, just folks that don't pay off their balances many months and are charged interest.
If you don't always pay your cc balances, what are your reasons why? Thanks for your insight and time!!

I always pay it in full.
Always.
|
Yes, I have balances. Why? Because they are high.
|
We do.
Of course we pay the balance each month. Unless there's a good reason (change in circumstances, major unforseen expense, you've exhausted all other options), you'd have to be an idiot to pay interest on your credit card. Living beyond your means is expensive.
I do
Always pay in full. The last time I didn't was my first year out of college, almost 15 years ago.
Yes, we pay in full each month. We also put most of our bills on the cc in order to accumulate cash back.
I do
Always. I don't spend on the credit card unless I have the money in the bank. I move the amount I spent to a savings account as soon as I make the purchase. At the end of the month that money pays the bill.
I always pay in full. The only time DH and I have ever carried a balance (individually or jointly) was to help pay for our wedding for a year afterwards. We are also teaching our college-aged kids to do the same.
We pay it off every month because carrying a balance is a huge waste of money.

We have one credit card and we pay it off every month. We have an emergency back up card and, if that gets used, we pay it off at the end of the month.
(the emergency card is because our primary card is with Citi and they cancel it literally at the drop of a hat. Like for a charge of $5.60 at a gas station IN OUR ZIP CODE. We use it b/c we get great rewards points with it.) Before we got married, I used to carry a small balance at times (under $2k). My DH cured me of that. |
I'm terrible at managing credit. I've managed to screw up every credit account I've ever had. No more for me.
