| Budget is $3k-5k. Looking for something classic and simple - timeless. He never buys himself anything, and he's really the sweetest husband and dad, so I want to get this right. |
| My husband is a pretty sporty/casual guy so I went with a Tag Heuer for our 10th aaniversary. He wears it everyday. |
+1 (5th anniversary) |
| Is he the kind of guy who would be comfortable wearing a watch that expensive? I say this because I'm also a person who doesn't buy myself stuff, and while I could easily afford it, wearing an expensive watch like that would make me very uncomfortable. |
| Get him a new phone and that can double as his watch. A timepiece shows his age. |
|
Yes, because watches are SO 2011. (joking)
|
Really? I've always worn a watch and refuse to rely on a phone to tell time. Guess I'm 36 going on 86... |
| Get him a Timex and put the money away. |
Or give the rest to charity in his name and get a tax write-off. Win-win for everyone. |

My DH turns 35 in a few months and I can afford an...um...maybe $300 watch. Maybe.
Wow. |
OP, don't listen to this person. Every single male I know that's aged 18 and up wears a watch. |
I could afford a $30 watch.
|
| OP - I'm not sure of the price range (because it's way out of mine), but I really like the look of Baume et Mercier watches. |
| Hold your wallet and get a Tissot. Swiss made, nicely styled, and they start at a few $100s. |
|
I got DH a Citizen and I could afford your budget easily - he loves it, gets compliments on it and we bought stock with the balance.
(poor people buy things that depreciate - rich people do the opposite) |
