Romney's poll numbers are up? I'm leaving...

I'm definitely thinking hard about abandoning the US if Romney wins. DH is European, so we've got that option.

I can't believe voters in this country are stupid enough to vote for the Etch A Sketch candidate! Suddenly Romney's poll numbers are UP! He's even with Obama! Who are these people who believe the lies Romney told in the so-called "debate" with Obama? Every day Romney gets more confident, and tells even bigger whoppers.

I agree with everyone that Obama is a disappointment as President and as a debater. If you judge that "debate" on how many lies each candidate told, then Romney is the clear winner. But does a fake smile, incredible audacity and a huge pile of switcheroo positions on basic issues important to swing voters make Romney suddenly worth voting for? What about the 47% that Romney abandoned, and now EMBRACES! He loves poor people! He wants to give the middle class a TAX BREAK! He will make insurance companies cover your kids and your pre-existing condition! Now all you swing voters, e.g. middle-class, middle aged white women, can vote for Romney! Yea!

I thought voters were incredibly stupid to vote for George W. Bush, but Romney takes the cake. He's worse than Dub-Ya, and I didn't know anyone could sink much lower.

My parents were Republicans, as were most of my aunts and uncles. They would not recognize this Republican party. I'm certain that, if Obama were labelled a Republican, they'd vote for him. They'd think Romney an outrageous outlier, not qualified to be President based on his lack of integrity alone, much less his brief resume in public service and his horrifying tin ear when it comes to international relations.

Why are Americans supporting this unbelievable creep, pathological "I'll say anything to get elected" liar Mitt Romney?

I dunno, and I don't want to live in a country that wants to be lead by a man like that. His poll numbers are looking better every day! I'm packing.

Chill out. Step away from the polls and look at the electoral college counts. That's what's important.

Romney's going to becour next president, so probably good to get used to it. He'll be fine. I certainly wouldn't worry about it.

Did you say you were going to leave when bush was elected?

Relax, OP. Yes there are some really gullible people in this country "(Yeah! Romney's going to cut all our taxes and eliminate the deficit! He's MAGIC!")

Fortunately, we outnumber them in the states that matter. Obama will win.

I agree that it is very bewildering and disheartening. I am right there with you on your vent. But we are not even remotely near having Romney win this. Obama has not been the failure that the haters here are claiming. There is an ugly subtext to the anti-Obama narrative that includes dog whistle racism and breath-taking arrogance and petulant destruction on the part of those that tear him down now. Some voters (or non-voters or undecided low information voters whatever!) claim they "loved Obama at first, but golly, he just turn out not to be the magical negro we thought he was!" I just think you have to carry on and not succumb to despair over this. I know it is daunting, but don't give up...

I was thinking about it back then, yes. But Bush had the likeability factor going for him. Romney is as despicable as they come.

I'm absolutely appalled by the boost Romney's suddenly gotten from that debate! How many ways can you spell stupid? PT Barnum had it right!

Yes the electoral college is what matters, but the voting machines may take care of that! Obama's going to be the Michael Dukakis of 2012.

I think Obama is a horrible president, but I didn't move to another country....BTW, there are just as many lies coming from Obama. They're politicians. Politicians lie. You're ridiculous. You really think other countries are better? Go ahead and move to them.

Romney is only up in the Pew poll which is an outlier at this point. Gallup has Obama up by 5 and Rasmussen has them tied. From what I understand PPP will have Romney up tomorrow, but that is due to a heavy a Romney bump during the first two days of the poll which had dissipated by the third day. So, in a couple of days, PPP will probably have Obama up again.

Where, pray tell, are all of these "I'm leaving" folks planning on going? Oddly enough, much of the world isn't clamoring to take in Americans.
