Toddler left at Livingston Park by daycare (FCC?)

Anonymous

My nanny was at Livingston Park today with our son. She said that around 4:30 she noticed that there was a little boy who seemed unattended. She said that he was smaller than my son (who is 2.5) and couldn't talk yet. He had no shoes or socks. She thought that maybe the nanny was in the bathroom, but 5, 10, 15 minutes went by, and no one came - and she checked the bathroom and there was no one there. She and her other nanny friend kept an eye on him, but finally they got the park attendant to call the police. After about an hour, someone came running back from the daycare. I assume it was probably Friendship Children's Center, because they very close, and I think they are the only daycare to use the park.

oh my god, that's horrible.

i've been at livingston when they bring the kids and its chaos - i can barely follow my 2 around and they had 5 or 6 per provider - it makes me totally uncomfortable.

a 2 YO was missing for over an hour? What did FCC do?

Who was doing counts? How quickly we forget what happened at the JCC and the uproar?

This has happened at The Hill Preschool in the past.

Places to avoid.

OMG-- yes they do bring all those kids and it is a bit chaotic but it did seem like the rounded up all the kids at the end.

Actually, other day cares/preschools use this park I believe but at 4:30 probably it was the FCC.

Also happened once at the JCC - I think it was Stead Park a couple of years ago?

Agreed - madness when they are there.

Can anyone confirm if this actually happened?

Yes-- can anyone with kids at FCC confirm this?

YOU SHOULD NOT MENTION THE DAYCARE NAME UNLESS YOU KNOW IT WAS THAT DAYCARE. Yes, all caps because you are putting a business in jeopardy simply because they are located near the park.

OP here. I stated the where the incident happened, and what I was told. I said that I *assume* it was FCC by virtue of the time and proximity. I want the name in the title so that FCC parents know to check with the school. I would want this if my child were there. It definitely happened, because both nannies and my little son (who can talk reasonably well), were very excitable about the whole incident. If it is or is not FCC, a parent there can confirm. Plus, I hate to think that a teacher would lie about this to not get in trouble, but it is certainly possible.

But it was *a* daycare (or preschool I suppose) -- because my nanny saw the teachers and class there earlier. She said the teachers were talking and talking amongst themselves and not paying attention.

given the description of the teachers - sounds like the poster has the daycare correct. i have seen these teachers there and they are highly focused on talking amongst themselves. For the premium that parents are paying for that daycare, I would expect more.

I have a son that is younger than two attending FCC. Did your nanny give you any description of the child?

To clarify description: clothes, height, hair color, demeanor, or anything else that would be appropriate.
