Did you start that troll post? |
| Yes it was FCC and the teachers still dont pay attition to the children when leaving the park! |
Our downtown DC daycare did this and it was never an issue. They had a 4:1 or 5:1 student/teacher ratio and the teachers know all of their children well enough to keep track of them. I never once felt uncomfortable about this. |
| Do not send your child to Friendship Children's Center unless you want to take a chance that they might lose them. They had four incidents of leaving children behind/losing them in 2 1/2 years! For more info, search DCUrban Moms and see what I'm talking about or ask the director, they have to tell you. |
Most downtown daycares routinely take the kids to the closest public park, as well as to children's performances at local theaters or museums. It's a really common sight around here to see the kids out. They usually have a rope that they all hold onto when walking, and some have bright vests that they wear. Doesn't bother me--frankly, I'd be more annoyed if they didn't take the kids outside, and if they failed to take advantage of all the cultural stuff they have access to downtown. |
| Our downtown daycare teacher found a child left behind by DC JCC - and she was NOT surprised when she heard about the other incident last year. Stead Park. Was a factor in my decision to not use them for daycare or summer camp. If they lose track of their regular kids god knows what might happen to a kid who was only signed up for a few weeks. She says the staff are not good about physically stepping when the children need a lesson in good behavior. Mostly hands off, with yelling, at least at the playground. |
