and doesn't find out the truth until after she is widowed. He impregnated her mom when he was 15 and she never knew him.

Good grief, if some relatives were still alive and knew he was her father, why the hell wouldn't they let her know b/f she got married?

He was a POS because he didn't say a word to her about knowing her mom? Disgusting.

Very sad, all of it. Of course, she did, at least, know she was getting involved with someone 15 years older. That alone suggests there was some kind of father thing going on.

They did not have children together, which is the most important thing.

That's the future of our society, folks.

A bunch of teens impregnating each other and moving on with their lives.

Also broken marriages everywhere with parents leaving their children behind and moving on with their lives making babies with other women/men.

Not to mention sperm and eggs "donations".

How is this different than a girl marrying the guy who was the sperm donor for her mom?

Eh. Except for the sperm donation part, human history has always been full of this.

There is a BIG, BIG difference to having "daddy issues" and marrying your biological father. You also don't need to marry someone older than you to have father issues, and there are also many happy couples with large age difference.

Where are you getting this from? Nowadays children out of wedlock are considered as important as children conceived in a marriage, even by law. It was never like this before. Bastard children were not as common (and as accepted) as they are nowadays.

Society is taking a turn for the worse and there's no more respect for the institution of family.

Grandma! Seriously, how many times do I have to tell you to stay off this site? Not many people want to hear the opinions of an 87 year old bigot.

Oh so broken families and making children and abandoning them is now "trendy"? What kind of messed up new norm is this?

the original article - in an ohio newspaper - implied that they had children together. However, the CNN article stated that he helped raise her three children from a prior marriage. I need more details...the poor woman. she said she wasn't sure he knew he was her father, but she suspects that he did know...If so, he was horrible! Yuck.
