Why doesn't the MSM jump on this the way they'd jump on it if it were conservative-based? Ohhhh, that's right. The MSM is in the tank for Democrats.
http://www.campusreform.org/blog/?ID=4364 or here, if you're gong to take issue with the first source http://www.ocala.com/article/20120918/WIRE/120919697 "A college professor has been placed on leave after she allegedly forced her class to sign a pledge to vote for President Obama in the upcoming elections. Early last week Professor Sharon Sweet at Brevard Community College (BCC) allegedly told students to sign a pledge that reads: “I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.” University administrators said they learned about the incident late Thursday afternoon and launched an investigation, after they received a phone call from a concerned parent. “Based on the allegations, Associate Professor Sweet has requested, and been granted, a leave of absence without pay effective immediately,” reads a statement put out by John Glisch, Associate Vice President for Communications at BCC." Please, if you will, explain why the MSM doesn't give attention to this kind of thing. EVER. |
Unacceptable. Glad they are taking action.
To answer your question, not sure one teacher doing something inappropriate rates coverage on national TV. Even the huge tempest in a nursing bra recently, "teacher breastfeeds in class!" was only picked up by the Post, it's local. I guess I just don't think it rises to the level of national news. Do you have examples of similar situations where say, a professor did something inappropriate, pro-Repub, that the MSM DID cover? |
Right wingers frequently believe that the MSM should be their personal blog. While this story may be newsworthy to you, for most people it is not. There are no national implications. Nobody was harmed. The problem was resolve immediately after it was reported. It's impact is practically nonexistent.
The only aspect of the story that is interesting to you is the fact that it was a pro-Democrat or pro-Obama action. If the pledge would have been to vote for Romney, you wouldn't be posting here. Of course, the irony of your engaging in a partisan activity while making an accusation of partisanship will be entirely lost on you. |
Explain? It's actually very simple. Because it happened at a community college in Florida that no one has ever heard of. If it happened at a well known university, it would be newsworthy. |
Since you are a mod, maybe you could tell me if there's a way we can put certain posters on "block" or "ignore" so as not to see their posts. I would like to do this with all your posts, as you are consistently flammable and nasty toward conservative viewpoints, something that with anyone else would be simply irritating but for a mod is irresponsible and uncalled for. Thank you.l |
For one thing its a non-story. Now if Obama had asked the students to sign a pledge that would be a story. Totally wrong for the teached to do it and she got the appropriate punishment - loss of her income and hopefully her job. |
You could see if Michelle Malkin would consider hosting a parenting forum on her blog, and visit that instead of this one? |
Op, you are on a parenting blog in one of the most liberal cities in the nature. If you are looking for sympathizers I think you need to find another forum. I hear the red state is nice. |
Yes, completely unacceptable that she did that.
But, c'mon, I think you're not being realistic about this event. First of all, the professor was disciplined by her school. It didn't take a student protest or a media investigation to address it. Prof did a bad thing. Prof was disciplined. End of story. Second, it's a community college in central Florida for gosh sakes. If it happened at UVA or Harvard, that would be another thing but a community college in central Florida just isn't going to be that interesting to most people. |
Well, Fox News isn't covering it. As of today I can find no mention on the web site. That suggests that its notoriety or newsworthiness is lacking. |
Which nature is that? |
Sorry, you have to put up with my bullshit. Just like I have to put up with yours. |
Another Republican telling people what they can and can't do with their free speech and their business to boot. Typical, hypocritical, and ironical. |
Bwahahahaha! YES. Thanks, Jeff, for the best smackdown of the day. |
Apparently pointing out facts makes people "flammable and nasty" in your world. Good to know. |
