College Professor to Students: Pledge Support to Obama and Democrats

13:06, it is called "choice," but I sense you are not familiar with that concept. You "choose" to patronize this site. You could "choose" not to patronize this site. No one is forcing you to do so. People come here to post and read a variety of views. If you don't like what you are reading, then "choose" to go somewhere else. That's the beauty of it again - no one is forcing you to be here or make the "choices" you have decided are best.

"A college professor has been placed on leave after she allegedly forced her class to sign a pledge to vote for President Obama in the upcoming elections.

Early last week Professor Sharon Sweet at Brevard Community College (BCC) allegedly told students to sign a pledge that reads: “I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.”

University administrators said they learned about the incident late Thursday afternoon and launched an investigation, after they received a phone call from a concerned parent.
“Based on the allegations, Associate Professor Sweet has requested, and been granted, a leave of absence without pay effective immediately,” reads a statement put out by John Glisch, Associate Vice President for Communications at BCC."

Please, if you will, explain why the MSM doesn't give attention to this kind of thing. EVER.

Explain to me why it's newsworthy? I mean that, seriously. What makes this news?

No one is silencing shit. If the poster is too sensitive to handle feedback on what he says, that's his problem. This isn't little league, not everyone gets a trophy. There is a marketplace of ideas, and if you end up in the discount aisle, that's your own damn fault.

Jeff is an opinion like any other. He has only two abilities: to kick someone of, and the ability to tell which posts come from the same poster.

The first he uses very, very rarely as we can see from the many douchebags who frequent this place. As for the second, he himself posts under his own name, so the playing field is entirely level on that point.

He's not magic. His posts are only as strong as his ideas. If you are so fearful of him, step up your game.

Nobody was harmed. The problem was resolve immediately after it was reported. It's impact is practically nonexistent.

The only aspect of the story that is interesting to you is the fact that it was a pro-Democrat or pro-Obama action. If the pledge would have been to vote for Romney, you wouldn't be posting here. Of course, the irony of your engaging in a partisan activity while making an accusation of partisanship will be entirely lost on you.

Since you are a mod, maybe you could tell me if there's a way we can put certain posters on "block" or "ignore" so as not to see their posts. I would like to do this with all your posts, as you are consistently flammable and nasty toward conservative viewpoints, something that with anyone else would be simply irritating but for a mod is irresponsible and uncalled for. Thank you.l

Yeah Jeff, why don't you start your own web site if you want to post those views.
