A violent religion. And before you start with Christianity and the dark ages, Christians have evolved. No one went on a killing spree because Silent Bob and Jay depicted God as Alanis Morrisette or that Seth McFarlane had Jesus date rape a girl. Sad.

OMG - do you even know any Muslims?

Don't even engage the dumbass...can we all just agree that this level of ignorant is designed to inflame, and they can just go away and troll a different board?

“Fight in the way of God against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! God loveth not aggressors.”

No, OP. There are violent sects of all major religions. Islam itself is not violent, although there are many extremist Muslims who are violent. Don't blame the religion for extremists.

And some more modern examples. There are many Christian extremists who have bombed abortion clinics in the name of Christianity. Take a look at recent news from Belfast where there is still sectarian violence in the name of Christianity (that's as recent as this week). This happened in June of this year: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2012/06/christian-taunts-and-violence-mar-arab-festival-in-michigan/. And more. There is Christian violence frequently. You just ignore all of it because it doesn't fit your mindset. You'll highlight every example of Muslim violence to feed your bias, and be selectively blind to the examples of Christian violence, you ostrich.

The guy who shot and killed the security guard at the Holocaust Museum a few years ago did it in the name of Jesus. But we don't (and shouldn't) condemn a religion because of his actions. I guess this ability to separate the two is a higher-level thought process, but I hope it's not too difficult.

This is the beginning of a world war. Muslims against infidels.

Defend violence? No. Defend demonstrating against a film? Sure. That's freedom of speech.

I agree, but, boy, am I getting tired of defending the free speech of morons like this guy who by all accounts made a stupid (and really, really badly done) video and Fred Phelps. It gets tiresome when they're not just saying stuff to say it, but for the express purpose of inflaming people.
