? Experience with MDs in Dr. Correnty's Arlington practice (just found out my primary is leaving)

Anonymous
Just had a voicemail from the office asking me to call back re selecting my new doctor since Dr. Antonetti is leaving. This is the first I heard of that, which is not a good thing IMO, he seemed very good, on the ball & thorough.

I ended up going to him when I transferred to Dr. Correnty's office in '09 and was told Dr. C was not taking new patients. He was good enough that when the office went to optional Privia Health last year I signed up at the lower level of access/service. May or may not renew that now.

Anyone have experience w/ other doctors in the Arlington office of the practice? I'm out of town and the only 2 names I can recall are Dr. Caine and Dr. Wittig.

Don't particularly care if it's a man or woman (I'm a man) though my previous primary docs have all been men....

thanks for any info, etc.

I used to be a member of the practice and liked all of the doctors I saw (except one NP who pushed an odd beauty-skincare line on me, as well as holistic medicine which I did not request). My mom likes them, too, and still goes there (although her doctor has just moved as well).

However, what made me run like the wind was all this Privia nonsense. I do not want to pay for concierge medicine.

You don't have to pay for Privia in that practice, it's optional. Of course, there may be levels of service, etc. involved, but it's not like other practices that have gone all mandatory concierge ...

In any case, my mother's had a concierge practice for the past 2+ yrs. and it's worked out great for her, IMO the more you may need to use it, the better deal a concierge setup is ... so that's a minor issue for me in this particular situation. I do not want to pay for concierge medicine either but it's a fact, it's here, so you either adapt to it/reconcile yourself to it, or not. Fortunately the cost is not an issue for me even though I'm not keen on it philosophically.

I hear Wittig and Muir are going too. Does anyone know where they are going?

... or why (I assume perhaps discomfort w/ the modified boutique practice w Privia etc.)...

I do think there are underlying issues with the practice management and working within that. But I am really interested in learning where Wittig and Muir are going....

Anyone dealt with Dr. Pappas there?

Apparently the Arlington office is closing. Drs. Muir & Wittig are opening an office @ VHC, and Dr. Correnty's practice will continue in the McLean office. Dr. Antonetti is moving out of the region.

So now I have to figure out whether to stay with the practice in McLean (10 mins. farther from my house), or move over to Dr. Muir @ VHC (closer).

Any feedback on Dr. Muir or Dr. Pappas? Dr. Wittig seems to get very good reviews, I have to decide if I (male) prefer a male vs. female primary internist.

Oy ...

I need a new doctor too. My doctor has gone to this Privia thing but I'm not interested in joining it. As an exisitng patient I'm not obliged to join, but when I called for an appointment the other day I was given October 19th. I asked what date I would get if I were a Privia member and they said "today or tomorrow". Haha. Eff 'em.
