I used to be a member of the practice and liked all of the doctors I saw (except one NP who pushed an odd beauty-skincare line on me, as well as holistic medicine which I did not request). My mom likes them, too, and still goes there (although her doctor has just moved as well). However, what made me run like the wind was all this Privia nonsense. I do not want to pay for concierge medicine.
You don't have to pay for Privia in that practice, it's optional. Of course, there may be levels of service, etc. involved, but it's not like other practices that have gone all mandatory concierge ... In any case, my mother's had a concierge practice for the past 2+ yrs. and it's worked out great for her, IMO the more you may need to use it, the better deal a concierge setup is ... so that's a minor issue for me in this particular situation. I do not want to pay for concierge medicine either but it's a fact, it's here, so you either adapt to it/reconcile yourself to it, or not. Fortunately the cost is not an issue for me even though I'm not keen on it philosophically.
