Per fvaunion website

The projected roster sizes are:

U13: 20 Players

U14: 20 Players

U15: 20 Players

U16: 22 Players

U17: 22 Players

U18/19: 24 Players

Expect rosters to be bigger than that.

Why would it be different than what is specified?

You weren’t at the townhall last night. They said roster size is up to coaches.

They will add all Fall long. You might see a team snap with 20-21 players this Summer and then by September it's 28, October it's 30, etc.

Shock and surprise

Why does MYS or Brave have loyalty? The clubs need to move forward.

Merit, not loyalty is what we look for. We found the opposite. Some that are kept on rosters far too long and have a special understanding. My kid was like 'oh yeah, they Loooooovvveeee X". A player that is long past their due. Dribble to ground, not tactically very sound. Good back when just size mattered, not so much now.

+1 At the town hall I think they said these are minimums for budget purposes? Maybe I didn't hear it clearly if anyone else did.

Money, money, money....MONNEEY. You know the song. lol

People are so brainwashed and conditioned to be zombies to the labels and brand names.

Why do so many think their kids need to be on these teams?
Are these the only soccer clubs in VA?

That's true pretty much everywhere. Different club than Br/Union-- Kid on ECNL that momma keeps on the team. No idea what sway she has because it's the same at HS. Not attractive-very large, loud mouth, annoying---everyone figures she must have dirt on someone because it doesn't appear it's $ or sex. It's long past the age of keeping someone for a loud mouth. But kids talk. She's doing her kid a major disservice.

But it’s not just MYS coaches on FVU teams. BRAVE (and VYS) have always maintained the roster size indicated (in some cases not even going to the max).

It will depend on the coach so maybe smaller rosters on teams with Brave coaches and bigger on rosters with McLean coaches. Think 24 for HS age and 30+ for U18/19 if the head coach is McLean

Getting back to the offers--anyone have a sense of how many (boys) offers were given yesterday? If a current player did not get an offer yesterday, is there still a solid chance as ID sessions continue? Thanks.

FOMO: People caring if offers have come out already. If you don't have one, make a plan b. If you wind up not needing plan b, great. If you do, you are on the path to recovery.

Is ECNL really the villain though? They do need to keep up certain things. If a club isn’t meeting those levels then they need to make adjustments. I’m not sure we know when the cllub(s) were notified. And the club(s) decided how to proceed. Is it possible the ECNL said you have another year or two or whatever timeframe to get your teams in order? We don’t have alll the facts.

attended town hall last night. ECNL first approached Brave and MYS at the coaches meeting in January 2024. MYS at least (unclear on Brave) asked for a year to transition so that this could rolled out in a more coherent manner. ECNL essentially said no. It had to be now or else they would not renew membership in April. ECNL guy sounded like a true jerk.

ECNL guy was probably tired of MYS BS. The tail doesn’t wag the dog.

Sure, but doesn't change someone wanting to assess where things currently stand.
