As suspected, he did not hit it out of the park.
“It certainly wasn’t a speech full of soaring rhetoric like some of his speeches four years ago,” said CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “Some have been comparing it to a State of the Union almost in terms of going down the check list.” http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0912/80900.html |
It was “vintage Barack Obama.” It was “probably not the best speech of the convention.” It was “one of the emptiest speeches” ever delivered on the national stage. |
yes my spelling sucks sorry and it's DNC not DNS |
OK, we get it, you hate Obama. Now go get some sleep. |
Meh. I think it was good that he didn't try to compete with Clinton. He did a good enough job and that was still head and shoulders above Romney |
He was great. His biggest problem was that he's always amazing and Bill was awesome. His bar was high. Romney didn't even have a bar he's such an uninspiring speaker. |
I made the comment to my husband that you can't even compare Romney's speech to Obama's. Personally, I can't wait for the debates. Obama is going to blow Romney away. |
CLINTON ISNT RUNNING!! |
i commented before the speech that i didnt want obama to speak about unicorns and fairy tales and that is exactly what i got.
big disappointment. the concern here isnt about me, its about the undecideds and i dont think obama made a case for re-election. this was a 2008 speech where he can talk about the greatness in all of us and that other fluff. this is 2012 though and hes president and needs to present more. with the unemployment numbers just coming out and looking shitty, all the pollyanish stuff isnt going to take him to the finish line. hes going to have to do more. the one word i keep using to describe the speech is whimsical. |
Nah, that would be Romney's. |
I don't know. I am an Obama donor, supporter and volunteer. It's been said that Romney grew up debating at the dining room table and college. Hillary Clinton outdebated Obama. |
Reagan isn't even a Republican by current GOP standards. Soft on poor people, soft on immigrants, and willing to raise taxes. That doesn't seem to prevent the RNC from invoking him over and over again, nearly a quarter century after he left office. So let it go. Clinton's endorsement carries weight. |
So, wait, what happened to him in 1994...and then in 20(bazillion) debates earlier this year? I guess practice doesn't always make perfect. |
Even liberal Andrea Mitchel was disappointed with Obama's speech. |
Look, I hope you are right. I am tooting for him. I guess I really should not have repeated what pundits said. Okay |
