They should do regional Golden Bachelors/Ettes.

He gushed a few times about her being a professional woman. On a sense, there were massive cultural differences from the beginning. He's from rural Indiana and she's a NJ career lady. That is difficult to bridge. Also think that deep down, some of his aw shucks personna was TV BS.

They both seem a little shady to me: he totally lied about his professional background, but I just saw her house today and it's a little shack-looking thing? So she's no great stockbroker. It makes no sense.

She never claimed to be. She did a little day trading as a hobby then parlayed that into a career in finance. She works as a compliance officer, which means low 6 figures. She is a widow and empty nester who lives in an expensive community--why would she need anything other than a small home? I've said before on this thread that she's not that wealthy, but is comfortable. More so than blue collar Gerry.

To me it sounded misleading, and to him too given how his eyes popped out when she said it.

That's on him, and on you, for thinking "working in finance" means rich . She was always humble.

This doesn't seem like the same Theresa that was being promoted back earlier in this thread. Is there more than one?

Watch the clip of their final dinner on YouTube if you want. People make dumb interpretations.

To be fair, a “little shack looking thing” in the NYC suburbs or any desirable NE area could easily be more than $1 million.

I totally called that - Theresa seemed so unhappy at the Bachelor finale last month.

Same.

Man, a bunch of posters in this thread must have really been wrong about all the laudatory stuff they were saying about her. How wrong can you get?

They could’ve flown back-and-forth
to each other‘s homes, would’ve been great. Had nothing to do with them breaking up. They just don’t love each other.
She seems relieved.

NP I did watch it. She absolutely was bragging, and insinuated she was wealthy in the way she presented it, like a rags to riches story of a little sahm who was a day trader for fun and turned it into a big career. Now of course a lot could have been edited out, but it was the story line presented to us as viewers.

I think she seems sad. He seems relieved.

We all interpret things differently, based on our own experiences. I can see how to someone like Gerry, she was bragging and insinuating that she was wealthy. That's not how I viewed it.

Show must be furious!
Spent a fortune on them
Nobody will care about new show
Should just cancel

You're the 72 yr old who likes to post in prose, right? And you're kind of new to this franchise, right?

Try to stay with it.... G&T divorcing will have no effect on the Golden Bachelorette or any future show. The franchise gets the rings back. They didn't have to pay for the trip to Italy. The network got their money's worth on the ratings. They aren't going to cancel just b/c you think it is a good idea. Honestly, it's probably best if you just pretend they cancel all future shows. It doesn't seem to sit well with you.

Gerry was a fraudster,
Show should have vetted candidates better
He filed for divorce today from her
I know his type, 72
can still be a jackass.
It gave many lonely seniors hope
Deserved a better bachelor
Hope she is ok
I am sure she is

I just read something about his last girlfriend (the one he lied about having by pretending he hadn’t dated since his wife died) and wow he sounds like an incredible a-hole to be in a relationship with, this lady dodged a bullet! I bet she wasn’t really keen to marry him when the stories about his girlfriend broke but she went along with the show because of the pressures and then quickly realized she wasn’t willing to risk giving up her life to be with him.

Whatever morons will still watch these shows and expect something functional to come from a relationship forged under such crazy circumstances. Is anyone from the series still together besides Trista and Ryan?

Um.

She did win. She won the competition. They had a prenuptial agreement, so her assets are safe and she got to enjoy the ride.

Are any of the bachelor couples still together other than Trista and Ryan?

How many times have they trotted out Sean Lowe and Catherine Lowe? If you haven't seen them, you have NOT been watching Bachelor/Bachelorette at ALL!

You're correct: the Golden Bachelor was my first experience. I've always thought it was a ridiculous premise and only watched this one due to the older ages.
