Best sexual position for conception...

OK, folks, I know this may be too much, but I got to ask.


So been trying to conceive for over 2 years, hubby can only seem to ejaculate when we are having intercourse dggy style. Could that be of the part problem? Admittedly, I am overweight, so doing it in the missionary position is not as comfortable because of my belly .

After he ejaculates, I do lay on my back with a pillow underneath my hips for about 15-20 minutes.

P.S. I am seeing an RE, but this month were are trying naturally because I had to have a HSG last week.

Any ideas or thoughts? Please feel free to add what position may have helped you.

I don't think it makes THAT much difference, but I always thought missionary was the best.

Chances are excellent that excess weight is more of a problem than the position.

I've always heard missionary is best but it shouldn't make a huge difference either way. Keep using the pillow and lie down for as long as possible afterwards.

The HSG is famous for "cleaning the pipes" and increasing fertility. Best of luck!

Yes, that's what we did and it worked the first try.

Yes, that's what we did and it worked the first try.

+1, but you don't use an actual turkey baster. You use a large syringe style liquid medication dropper (like the kind used to give toddlers medication).

No, we actually used a turkey baster--happened to have it on hand. The whole idea came up spontaneously and it was the right time of the month to get those spermies up there.

Why would you use a turkey baster if you could have sex and do direct deposit? I understand why single or gay women would try this approach but doesn't it just add a complicated step compared to replacing the turkey baster with nature's syringe?

I think the OP is concerned that doggy-style isn't getting the sperm where they need to go (I personally believe positioning has very little to do with succes, but I think that's where the idea of using a needleless syringe came up -- so that she could self-inseminate in a missionary position)
