Agreed. The rules were that geographic categories of persons are capitalized (like Asian, Appalachian, Japanese, European) but categories based on color are not (caucasian, white, black). That is probably still true in Strunk & White or elsewhere. However, the Associated Press guidelines did away with the hyphens and requires capital letter for colors when used to identify a racial group. Wokeness.

The AP guidelines capitalize Black but not white. No one else is required to follow their conventions. The point here is that the woke army (or is that Woke Army) treats Asian Americans as White to advance their own agenda that only Black and Brown people face discrimination and that kicking Asian kids out of TJ is anti-racist.

Wokeness gotta go.

What do you have against being woke? Guess you wanna Make America Great Again, but this time with asians having a larger role. Good luck convincing white mommy and daddy that you will be anything more than their personal yes man or yes woman.

Here's the reality: I don't expect FCPS and other school systems to deviate from their path of holding education hostage to the country's social problems. We'll likely see more "white flight" scenarios in the coming years, where parents realizing their kids are not learning anything of education value in school, will flock in greater numbers to privates or homeschool.

Privates are expensive; homeschooling is time-consuming. More likely there will be a flight to the perceived top pyramids in FCPS and to less SJW-obsessed school districts like LCPS. And there’s also a decent chance the Democrats will take a drubbing in the 2023 School Board elections. Lots of buyer’s remorse about some of those who got elected.

I don't know, I don't see it. Maybe the high schools are ok, but the elementary school education here in FCPS in top pyramids is woefully inadequate. It's really doing a disservice to kids development and education.

At least Brabrand only got a 1-year extension. That’s a dismissal with a soft landing. He really has been a disappointment. Came in pledging to make academics his main priority and all he’ll be remembered for is botched distance learning, a lack of attention to overcrowded schools, and ruining TJ, America’s #1 high school.

LCPS just got sued for practicing white supremacy.

He’s a POS. No different than his predecessor.

Seems like a lot of the posters would consider LCPS’s discrimination a positive.

Well yeah, it’s good as long as it helps elevate them above the Blacks.

The problem is that most people in this area just vote Democrat across the board. Even people who know nothing about schools. So just by being the Democrat on the ticket, no matter how bad you are, you are likely to be elected.

There are some districts in Fairfax County where a Democrat will always win - Lee, Mason, and Mount Vernon.

There are two districts where Republicans have held seats or been competitive until recently - Springfield and Sully.

And then there are four that could flip depending on the circumstances - Braddock, Dranesville, Hunter Mill, and Providence. Of those four, Dranesville and Providence would be the most likely to flip, at least at the School Board level.

The last year has shown that FCPS cannot function with a 12-0 Democratic School Board. At a minimum, there need to be at least three Republican or Independent members who provide some balance.

Good riddance to an a-hole with an intense persecution fetish. If he were at least competent on academic issues that would be one thing, but he's shown out as spineless when it counts.

Seems like most posters are overwhelmingly against discrimination, but not all posters (nor the school board) recognize all directions of it.
