Children’s books I hate:

Coraline you mean? My kid went through a Coraline phase when she was 4, which I loved as a break from the non stop Disney princesses. It's a little spooky, but aside from the spider scene at the end, not scary scary (for a not sensitive kid that is).

I thought it was pretty clear that the mouse coincidentally dreamed up the Gruffalo without knowing it was real OR, even more likely-- that the mouse had heard tale of a Gruffalo but incorrectly assumed it was a myth.

Who cares! The clever mouse even tricked the Gruffalo!

Al that authors books are fantastic- room on the broom, snail on the whale, etc.
The cadence and rhyming really helps the kids learn to read aloud with feeling (so do Seuss books for same reason).

My kids and I hate Dory Fantasmogory. No good role models in her siblings who hate in her, her Mom dismisses everyone and joins in on the name calling, she has no friends, made up friends everywhere.
My kids asked if she was autistic like their nephew. I said prob not but we’re done reading these now. My kids also didn’t like all the snarky name calling and “I hate you” thoughts.
