1st choice, Oyster-Adams (proximity) #43
9th choice, Eaton (In-boundary) #10

Any chance at either?

O-A is a no. Not sure about Eaton.

Maybe for Eaton.

You’re probably right at the edge for Eaton. You may get in by the end of summer so I would have your enrollment papers ready bring in if they call. I know somebody who started at #12 on the waitlist and was called the Friday before school started. They faxed the paperwork from the beach.

Yea, they also let at least a couple IB children in after school started this years as well. I think some of the first time PK parents were feeling it out to see if they wanted to deal with the swing space and all, so the list definitely moved even after school started. So be ready!

You might get Key or Eaton.

Two Rivers PCS at Young #6

Brent Elementary School #4

Is Two Rivers a no-brainer for MS vs Stuart Hobson?

Depends on how you feel about the commute, I guess. And smaller vs larger schools. I don't think it's a no-brainer, since your child is still two years away and Stuart-Hobson is improving.

The commute isn't really an issue. I haven't been thrilled with the ES my kid is in currently - there are a lot of behavior issues that aren't dealt with consistently/effectively. I wonder if it will be worse at the MS level?

OMG of course it is going to be worst in MS.

+1. Even the best middle schools have behavior problems. Unless you have an extremely small school, it's just too many hormones going wild all at once.

Middle school everywhere sucks. God bless anyone who decides to teach middle schoolers.

DC Bilingual #34
LAMB Kingsbury #13
Yu Ying #9
LAMB SD match

This is for pk4. Currently at Breakthrough and leaning towards accepting LAMB although still on fence given how happy we’ve been at Breakthrough.

Absolutely love it. We may actually elect to stay. Incredible teachers and administration. The community is involved but not high strung. Love the super inclusive messages the school puts out. Also, most importantly, our DC has thrived - a level of independence and curiosity we haven’t seen before. Also, the heartfelt way that the teachers and administration have really engraved with and tackled this school from home thing has really impacted me. They care so much and they’ve truly made a really bad situation much better than it might have otherwise been. I almost wish we weren’t faced with this dilemma. We are really only considering leaving for the language component of LAMB (feeder to DCI is also a plus). But like I said, we are still on the fence.

That’s wonderful feedback. I’m sure whatever you decide, it’ll be great. From reviews, it sounds like LAMB is great as well. Good luck!

Middle schooler got in for EL Haynes 8th grade
Future High schooler and ES sibling are number 6 with sibling offered. Do they have a chance? If we move middle schooler?

How is this possible...
We got #32 DC Bilingual and #25 LAMB Kingsbury. Also PK4. Those are the only two we did this round.

I assume we have a better lottery number than OP because of our DCB number, but them why worse for Kingsbury... I am confused. Can someone explain?

That is super weird. I am also confused by some of the numbers posted here. For example, a prior poster said her rising PK3 child was 23 on the WL for Haynes and 54 for LAMB, while we matched at Haynes and our number for LAMB is a few spots ahead of that poster. Seems odd!

It all depends on how you ranked the schools, obviously. If you put LAMB #1 you will have a better WL number there than if you had ranked it #5.

Nope. Man, the lottery ran and some people still don't understand how it works.

You don’t know how other people ranked schools, so you can’t gauge anything based on your own numbers.

No. Just no! There is no correlation. Please go take a few minutes and watch the videos on MSDC. They are very good and will explain.
