This song right here is unreal amazing in its ability to capture heartbreak. It’s so good
“I’m jealous of the rain, that falls upon your skin...”
“It’s hard for me to say, I’m jealous of the way, you’re happy without me”

His lyrics really do perfectly capture it.

Totally. And the way he delivers them. Wrecks me

Not sure if it was listed somewhere in this thread, but I just listened to Sara MacLachlan's cover of The River.

Didn't realize I needed a good cry, but I had one.

Sobbbbb

SO sad.

Also loved the Keane recommendation.

"When I Was A Boy" by Dar Williams, "I and Love and You" by the Avett Brothers.

I have cried so many times listening to "When I Was a Boy."

Another favorite I don't recall seeing is "Winter" by Tori Amos. I used it for my dance with my father at my wedding.

Right now, "Where are you Christmas" by Faith Hill is making me bawl.

Didn’t realize I did too. Saddest Christmas song ever.

Scorpions "Still Loving You" is my favorite sad song. The chords are beautiful and the lead singer's voice is so plaintive.

I can't even listen to "Wish You Were Here" by Mark Wills because it makes me start crying. It's so sad.
