How many boys have been showing at the Arl. U9 tryouts?
How many girls? There is 1 try out left. |
Vienna girls side is somewhat less of a cattle call than the boys or Arlington but you definitely want to attend all try-outs and work hard. Arrive early to warm up. Wear a white shirt. Tell her to work hard and be aggressive so she gets noticed. Don't volunteer to be a goalie if she's not a goalie, pay attention and follow directions. Be enthusiastic, be serious, don't giggle and spend time drinking lots of water or talking. Most but not all girls make a team. Good luck! |
Yeah, it is ridiculous. |
| I just wanted to add another conversation to the mix of things to consider. We currently have a son on an Arlington top team and another that plays for Premier AC. My son did not make an arlington team when he tried out u9 year. While at first it was a little disappointing, in the end a smaller club that works hard to develop the kids they are given has been a much better fit for him. I think a good ADP team would have also been a decent fit, but it's important to note that's a relatively short term solution as the program goes away after a few years and also the coaching is very hit or miss depending on the volunteer coach and the paid pool coach. My son has really developed nicely at Premier AC and it is a huge relief for out family (and him) that the club keeps kids that generally come to practice and games and works hard. It is very nice not to stress about him being cut every single spring. I don't know if try-outs are posted yet, but when i do i will try and remember to come back and post. try outs are also low key affairs where you basically join practice. |

First of all PAC is for bad players. The few good players always leave. ONLY go there if your alternative is Arlington bottom two teams and your DC is dead set on travel.
ADP is not going to set your kid back. If you want to get better at soccer, you should actually bypass every team at Arlington other than red and maybe white and do ADP. If your player has talent like the previous poster, then supplement ADP with good individual and small group training, during the year and in the off seasons. Play Super Y, not for Arlington, but.a different club. Don't get caught up into the No Man's Land of a blue or black team. That's a waste. You will have more fun and get more development with less travel in ADP + Xtra programming, and if you your kid wants to play U13 soccer and above as a teenager, then you will be able to break in. Don't listen to any of these people who tell you otherwise. Club soccer is not going to even make the best red team player better. It is up to your and your DC. ADP is one of the best programs inside the Beltway. |
Thanks. I saw they listed a white shirt on their website. She has some with writing. Do I need to go and buy a plain white shirt? |
No that would be silly. That’s fine or wear a light color shirt like grey light blue etc. trust me it’s not something coaches look at |
You’re all off. It’s not about how many hours kids practice. In Spain they play pickup at home, at school at the park, at grandma’s house, every birthday party, family reunions, barbecues, etc. It’s those kids who go on to get really good. And it has little to do with little kid soccer hours. Problem is that in the US, those kids have to be wealthy and with parents who’ll leave work early for practice during the week and spend the weekends on the road. Have a soccer culture at home and you’re set. Don’t and you’re child may be rightly placed in the middle. Which is still good if they’re having fun. |

Your "foreign" hot shot comment is quite concerning to me and at a minimum I think you should be banned from this board. |
|
Shut up numbskull. Post was quoting PP. Get off the thread you clown.
"......I know two kids that are foreign-born my husband coached ......" |
Please read the threads and posts before you make such comments. Even with all the soccer parent noxious comments, this is by far the most embarrassing. take some time read and think before posting. thx |
| what do the u12 u11 boys teams team look like for next year at Braddock road ? any idea how many teams they are fielding that age? any feedback on particular coaches there? |
We had a few 07s and 08s that left BRYC last year and assume they will try to recruit from them again. BRYC, like many Fairfax clubs is under a ton of pressure from neighboring clubs. I don't think they should have left CCL, because they really did leave a lot of question marks for the younger age groups. |
will they have 2-3 teams for u-12 my son is one who left after u-9 after they moved the coach to the girls side with very little notice. but I think we are ready to come back |
