Truth. |

On twitter CWG told someone their Tuesday PM flight would be fine.
Seems optimistic.... |
That's because it's a fast moving event that will be mostly done by Tuesday afternoon |
| Two to six inches, folks. |
|
Forecast of 6 to 8 inches inside the beltway. The main concern is temps - if they're too high, the snow will melt on contact at first, and it might even be rain and not snow for Monday evening. |
And now back to our regularly scheduled thread...
|
ONLY A DUSTING! probably rain! |
If you consider 8+ inches to be a "dusting"... |
| Umm, I think PP was joking with the "ONLY A DUSTING" comment. |
Yes! Because: 1. DW leaves on a train VERY early Monday for NYC for a medical thing that will keep her there until Friday 2. I am chaperoning a group of kids on a trip to - guess where??? - NYC on Wed - Friday of this week. And I have to figure out how to get our 3.5 y/o son to MIL's house in Mclean before our bus leaves on Wednesday morning! |
I believe NYC is supposed to get slammed hard. Blizzard style. |
Odds are that trip is NOT happening Wednesday. |
DW will be fine leaving tomorrow morning. I'd have the 3.5 year go to MIL's on Monday night. |
Yes, they're definitely getting it worse than us, and that's what I'm afraid of. DW is going at the perfect time, and I'm considering taking DS to MIL's Monday (though I hate to do this to her because it will make for a long week). The trip will likely not be cancelled - it's not for sightseeing, etc. - it's for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and the conference organizers won't be able to cancel and eat it on all the costs (they use Columbia's campus while they're all on spring break). I think they plan to make an official announcement tomorrow and have sent out an email encouraging folks to try and travel Monday or Wednesday if at all possible instead of Tuesday. Thinking if anything we'll leave later on Wednesday. But who knows at this point! |
NYC is much better than DC in getting things running after snow. I can't remember work or school (Columbia) closing once when I lived there due to snow. |
