Here's a hint: snow is formed WAY UP HIGH in clouds where it's colder

Right but how does it not melt as it falls those 30,000 ft thru 36 degree weather?

Just, like, science, man.

So why can't you explain it? If it's falling thru above freezing air temps, how does it not turn to rain?

The temperature given by weather services is the air close to the ground. Even on top of a skyscraper it would be a few degrees colder, let alone cloud level.
And that's way lower than 30,000 feet by the way.

Yeah. Sort of. But snow clouds aren't at 30,000 feet. Sometimes towering thunderheads. But rain and snow come from much lower.

That's exactly what I wrote. (Let alone cloud level, that's way lower than 30,000 feet = no snow/rain clouds at 30,000 feet)

Same here, although I'm more concerned whether or not to iron my clothes and make a lunch for tomorrow.

Do them to ensure a snow day.

NP. Almost ready for tomorrow but am losing steam- sat down with a cup of hot chocolate and don't want to get back up!

I'll have to take a vacation day if the govt/daycare close as DH is away but I was kind of expecting and looking forward to getting my 1 year old out in the snow.

I'm super happy about the low amounts. A quick melt away and Spring will be back.

+1

Hoping that our $$$$ landscaping from last year doesn't get too damaged.

Actually, spring starts on March 20.

Of course smart ass. But it's not the first spring ever, so it will "be back", plus we've had very spring like weather for weeks. But as long as you think you got a dig in...
