You mean thank your mcps for wasting your money, just like how they wasted more than 6+ million on the Supreme Court case.

Here we go with the irrelevant Supreme Court case again. Not precedent by a mile.

Can you read? Where in the comment did anyone say the SCOTUS case was precedent? Are you ok?

Someone said this will waste taxpayer money.

Someone else responded saying that’s a weird response considering Taylor wasted $6 million dollars to lose in Supreme Court.

Here we are with the "two wrongs make a right" argument again. It can be wrong for MCPS to take that case to the Supreme Court AND ALSO wrong for a small group of Wootton parents to waste taxpayer dollars on this lawsuit.

Wrong for MCPS to do all this in the most chaotic way so that they open themselves to lawsuit and thus waste taxpayers money

*FTFY

Wootton said their building was unsafe. MCPS responded by giving them a new building.

+1

I don’t get it. The building has mold, pipes bursting, no AC, no heat.

Brand spanking new school. What’s not to love? I don’t get it.

Why are the sueing? For what, so they can continue at the school that is a health hazard?

They'd rather send their kids to a school with mold than kids from Gaithersburg.

Kids from Gaithersburg have already been attending Wootton for decades.

Ie the tiny section of DuFief that is north of 28 as well as the Rio/Washingtonian neighborhood.

And trashed their neighborhood by abandoning an entire high school and leaving it vacant. Taylor won’t even mow the grass.

Wootton advocates complained about the poor conditions. This is a good solution. its not up to Taylor to mow. Why can't you mow?

I have honestly no dog in this fight but the only thing I don’t understand is how if the building is so unsafe and terrible it can be a holding school.

And Rio has been in Wootton cluster since the late 80s. That is the point the person was making. Gaithersburg and the Rio/Crown area has always been part of Wootton cluster

Just ask Thomas Taylor - the Great Oz has an answer for everything.

I think they have said that it is easier to patch it up for it to be used for a few years than it is to to a more permanent fix

Yes we know wealthy Gaithersburg families are welcome at Wootton, Montgomery village is not.

MCPS' position is that the Parkway site is fine as-is for a holding school:

"MCPS will renovate Wootton as a holding school when funding allows and infrastructure
upgrades would be required. It can be used as a holding school as it currently stands, but like all of our holding schools, we strive to complete necessary upgrades as funds become
available."

There are never going to be funds available to renovate Wootton enough for a holding school. They estimated $80-100 mil to “patch up”. It will sit abandoned for 50 years, like Woodward and then will
be demolished.
