This position is her penance for being morally corrupt. Now she has to go build relationships with the foreign countries whose citizens she detained and tortured. It’s not going to be a long-standing role for her. Trump wants her out, this is her punishment.

How about just send her into oblivion so she's no longer a topic? Let her run through her money and end up at the local department store ringing up underwear and stockings. Why does the country have to support her career?

Who cares about a college degree when the top schools are already represented by Trump, Vance, Miller etc.? A college degree hasn’t prevented any of those nutters from wrecking our country so what’s the difference?

THIS.

Assuming people in trades are stupid makes you look stupid.

Some of the biggest morons I know have fancy degrees. Markwayne is stupid because he's stupid and incurious, not because of his profession.

You people are such trash, honestly. This is exactly the type of thing that makes people completely write off the left. Yesterday, after MarkWayne was announced, Senator Welch, a DEMOCRAT from VERMONT called Mullin "competent and honest." While most members were cowering and hyperventilating in the balcony on January 6, then-Congressman Mullin was actively supporting Capitol Police barricade the door to protect ALL his fellow colleagues. It's like you see his name, you see his political affiliation, and you start foaming at the mouth. It's gross.

Please share examples of competent MAGA people and good MAGA policies that serve the vast majority of the American people from birth to death.

And so funny that you cite J6 as your defense of him. Lots of these guys when their lives were on the line defended themselves, then voted for the very person who brought the J6ers into their chamber.

But do go on.

I have no doubt that you and I would disagree on what constitutes "good policy" that best serves the American people from birth to death. I am merely stating that one of the most progressive members of the Senate called him competent and honest. Not an idiot, not a bad person, a person who put himself in harm's way to protect his colleagues when it mattered most. You want to appoint the DHS secretary? Win an election.

It's called comity. The MAGA senators rarely extend it to their Democratic counterparts, but the latter still engage in that fashion.

I didn't write anything about the ability to make presidential appointments. I only addressed the misrepresentation of Mullin on J6, then asked that the PP share MAGA people and policies working on behalf of the majority of this country. Noem went down because enough electeds in House/Senate heard from their constituents that they didn't like her/her management style/policies as well as her grift and graft, probably w/o him getting a cut.

Then Senator Welch is also an idiot, PP. Mullin is not intelligent. Perhaps he did help on Jan 6. That doesn't mean he's smart. There are morons on both sides of the aisle.

Likely when she testified that Trump had approved the $200 million spent on her ad campaign when he had in fact not approved it.

Yup

She grifted a little too publicly. The rest of the cabinet is grifting under wraps.

Kristi’s out.
She’s going to be a special envoy,
A very special envoy,
To America, from a standpoint of shield.

It’s called a shielding.

Someday her federal job will be manufacturing license plates.

DP. Well said, I agree 100%. This thread - like so many on this forum - is eye-opening, to say the least. The constant malevolent patronizing and condescension from liberals whenever someone like Mullin is discussed is one of the biggest turnoffs (among many) coming from the left. They will just never care how they come across. Oh well.

what do you mean by "someone like Mullin"? Sound alike you don't think too highly of him yourself.

What makes you think that the position is tax payer funded? If it is, do you know how the funding is appropriated to the Shield of the Americas? Like, is it through Defense? Homeland Security? Justice?

I just assumed it was a made up title for a made up organization that is maybe getting funded through a private foundation that wants to make nice/bribe the President, who has likely been bemoaning to all his corporate friends, "Will no one rid me of this troublesome brunette?"

I posted the above then realized I should check Wikipedia, which indicates Shield of the Americas will be under Dept of State. There's a very interested debate among the editors of whether the page should stay up or be deleted and just redirect to Kristie Noem's wikipage. Among the comments regarding deletion there's this tidbit:

"it's a face-saving title they slapped on Noem to keep her in the tent, it's not a real government office. Marco is going to offer her 0.5 employees and an office in the basement of Foggy Bottom."

Assuming this is true, the PP that stated "She belongs in an inner office without a window and without cell phone coverage" really seemed to be on to something.
