Obama had a working nuclear deal, it was giving moderates in Iran space to grow and it was successful.

There's a real world difference between the two - and you know it. If attacking an embassy was sufficient provocation for attacking a country directly in response, the U.S. would have been in a lot more wars over the years, and other countries too.
