No it is just common sense. People want equal opportunity not equal outcomes. No one wants a surgeon or pilot who got their position because of the color of their skin and/or gender. They want someone who can operate effectively or fly and land the plane safely.

True, but younger people (Gen X and down) are accustomed to a more diverse society and more open to being inclusive, so sooner than later it will all be moot. The vast right wing conspiracy is largely reactionary Silent Generation and older Boomer white men. In 2028 Millennials and Gen Z will make up the largest block of voters in the Presidential election. The vast right wing conspiracy is heading toward a demographic cliff. 2024 is their last stand.

This really isn't a LW vs. RW issue. I'm not sure how many conversations you've had with people across the political spectrum on this, but it's not as clear cut as you're representing it. There's large scale fatigue here.
