The amount of $$$ these people spend to sway things via sm is pathetic. Its the same with politics. |
Google it and you can find a version you can see. I can't fathom her blaming the paparazzi for her bad driving skills and bad decision making. I'm sure the number one thing on her mind was how cool she thought she looked driving her kid around on a vespa. That is just idiocy. |
Just move on? I ski and have never, ever run in to anyone. If someone injures me, they are going to pay for the medical bills and more if it's serious. |
| I’m not a fan of gp because of all the disordered eating crap she promotes but wow, I have a lot of sympathy for her after reading this thread (not in its entirety). I thought she looked great in the court pics I saw, and I give her credit for tolerating the female lawyer’s bizarre questioning, inappropriate comments and fawning. So cringey. |

You're going to have to prove they ran into you. That's not clear cut in the current case. But you're free to spend 7 years of your life pursuing a few hundred thousand which will never make you whole again. |
We're not saying this past incident should be admissible in court. But for purposes of our own opinions, the scooter incident does illustrate her carelessness and lack of attention in another risky situation, coupled with her inability to take accountability. And she even wasn't in trouble in the scooter incident -- it was just some bad press -- yet her excuse was implausible. That doesn't mean she is guilty in the ski accident, although I do think she was not paying attention. Her son's ski instructor, who did not see the accident, said that the son yelled to GP, "Mommy look at me!" right before the accident occurred. Apparently GP acknowledged this in her deposition but on the stand said that she did not recall it. The only eye witness blames GP. In any case, my understanding is that if she was distracted but in front of the plaintiff, she would not be considered responsible for the accident -- only if she was behind him. I'm guessing that the jury will not find her responsible because it's hard to prove, but I don't see this as the clear cut case that some people in GP's side say it is. |
I don't believe Terry Sanderson's version of events where he said she was distracted and turned to look at her children. If that's true and he saw it, he must have been uphill behind her. Otherwise how would he know if he was downhill of her. |
| New evidence in court today - some viewer accessed the old meet up site from the ski group and found all the comments posted by both Ramon and Terry and others in the ski group on the day of and days after the ski trip. Pretty much supports Terry's version of what happened. But watching Terry on the stand - he is seriously mentally unstable and not a valid witness at this point in time. |

Even if she hit him, there's no way she caused the damage he says she caused. It's a bullshit lawsuit, he just wants $$$$.

This guy is a clown. Nobody is buying what he's selling. |

Eric Christensen - Moses ski instructor is now testifying. Most sane person to testify to date and seems fairly impartial as he has contradicted GPs testimony significantly.
Unepxeted fact: Ski instructor must be in his late 60s at least. Has been a ski instructor for 44 years. He had been watching Sanderson as he was coming down the slope with a lot of speed and was clearly a strong skiier making 'GS Slalom like' turns on his edges. He watched until Sanderson passed him and Moses and then he heard a scream and looked over and the two of them were tangled on the ground. He skiied over and Sanderson was laying on his back head up the hill and Paltrow was on top of him with their legs and skiis entangled. He helped them get their skiis off. Paltrow was angry and Sanderson wasn't saying much. Ramon was still skiing towards them as he had been much farther uphill. It sounds like they just colliided without warning where they both turned into each other. I don't think either knows exactly what happened. Sanderson likely was hurt (concussion and broken ribs) because he was travelling at higher speed and came to a sudden stop and fell backwards quite hard and then had Paltrow land on top of him. She wasn't hurt as she had been skiiing slower and had a softer landing. CHristensen testified that Sanderson was never unconscious and initially said he was okay and didn't need assistance. He did say he wasn't saying much but he did say sorry. He said Paltrow wasn't yelling but was using a sharp tone. Christensen first helped Paltrow up then Sandersen up. |
This is my issue. I've skied (and raced) all my life. I don't ski with a lot of speed or make "GS Slalom like" turns on a run like Bandana, which is filled with kids, especially now that I'm a parent. I generally think you assume the risk when you ski of whatever happens; however, nothing makes me more angry than skiing on greens with a 4-year old and some idiot decides to fly by with "a lot of speed". Greens are always going to be filled with little kids and ski school. Only idiot, bad skiers ski fast on greens. I don't like anything I've read about this guy. |
Instead of contradicting I think he corroborates Paltrow's version. Someone skiing up behind you could knock you backwards and you could fall back hard on them breaking a few ribs. He also refutes Sanderson's claim that he was sticking to the right because of his poor eyesight. |
I agree. According to EC - the two ski instructors and the two kids were on the left side of the run and Gwyneth was across from them skiing on the right side of the run and they were all moving much slower than Sanderson who came down through the middle of the run making sweeping turns. It doesn't sound like either was uphill and neither ran into the other's back. They were about on the same plane with Sanderson moving faster. Sanderson crossed over to the right side as part of this wide turns just as Gwyneth turned towards him and they turned into each other and collided. Just as Sandersen passed him, EC had looked back at the kids as the 'danger' was now passed and that is when the scream and collison happened. According to EC it all happened very fast as he had just looked away. Sanderson had testified that he was watching a woman who was a clear beginnger who was near Gwyneth as he was making sure to avoid her. He also is blind in his right eye and had a cataract in his left eye. It seems he was just pretty much skiing down the run taking over much of the hill and turned into her - either because he didn't see her due to his lack of peripheral vision or because he was watching the other woman or both. They have been in side bar for ages so that is as far as the instructor has gotten in his testimony. On another note, Gwyneth's lawyer is terrible. |
