Tell us you don’t understand science without telling us.

Want a moron.

If you understood science you’d know they’re totally unnecessary and very cringey.

I know two different owners of early 2000’s Audi TT’s whose cars left the roadway at higher speeds because they became airborne due to lack of downforce on the back of the car. The low pressure zone immediately above the rear of the car created enough lift to suck the rear end of the car right off the pavement. The same way an airplane wing generates lift. The shape of the car does the same thing.

Are they necessary on all cars? No. They’re probably not even critically necessary on most of the cars that have them, as long as speeds are kept below 80ish mph and/or cornering forces are kept at less than .5g for speeds greater than 25-30 mph. Beyond that threshold, the pounds of downforce generated by a spoiler can help the rear tires stay planted and in contact with the road when they otherwise may have lifted or unloaded the suspension.

I realize you don’t understand any of the dynamics of performance driving, so it’s hard to dumb it down enough for you to get it, but aerodynamics are a real thing, and you’ll simply have to take the word of someone smarter than you.

Bullshit.

Ok. You’ve definitely disproven me with your substantive, fact-based retort backed up by citation of relevant scientific phenomena.

Congratulations. Good job.

Any huge white SUVs. Trashy.

Huge black SUVs are trashy too

It’s racist to not like black SUV’s.

Why bother? This is someone who is clearly proud of their ignorance and wants to wave it like a red flag. Probably a Confederate one.

Anything that has been over customized.

My supervisor at work has a Jeep. It has been lifted, rims replaced and resprayed. Even though he's in his 50's, the Jeep looks like it is owned by a 19 to 20 year old.

It's his choice on how he spends his money on his vehicle but for me, it's very overdone.

Still bullshit. It’s illegal to drive in excess of 180kph on any U.S. road. This is a discussion of what looks tacky on cars on the road in the US. A spoiler is completely unnecessary and looks silly. This is not a discussion of what looks tacky at your local race track. Like I said, a spoiler is unnecessary. The physics of spoilers don’t meaningfully apply to cars driven legally on U.S. roadways. The end.

I drove 190+mph this past Sunday in West Virginia. Right in front of at least half a dozen on-duty JeffCo Deputy Sheriffs.

People DO drive faster than the speed limits, granny.

If he takes it off-road, then that sounds awesome. If he doesn’t, then it sounds like a huge waste of potential.

Worst: (1) "Don't Tread on Me" plates on any vehicle (2) Any vehicle with old political stickers supporting any candidate, regardless of party (3) Tesla Truck

Also bad: (1) Jeep Truck. (2) Huge SUVs and trucks that people can't park effectively and therefore take up 1.5 spots

My weekend ride is a neon green Jeep Gladiator with 37” tires and a 6” lift kit. And you bet your a55 I’ve got DTOM tags!

I wished we lived next door to you. I’d leave it in the driveway all the time just so you’d see it constantly

Jeep pickups look utilitarian. I’d have one if it weren’t for the Jeep reliability issue.

I don’t love how the Acura and Mercedes emblems got so huge.
