If you don't want them in the "nice/residential part of DC" where do you expect them to live? Grow up. they are not living like this to be funny or because they want to. Also raise taxes for the rich to get those people some damn homes! |
They did raise taxes on people with high incomes in DC in the promise that it would go towards not being a tent city. If the tent cities get to stay like White and some others want, where’s the money going now? The money to give people housing is there. The problem is people not wanting to accept it, and the people who want to continue giving them the choice, or even make it a right, to camp on the street. |
Tax changes were just approved for this year. Give it some time to actually take effect. |
Honestly, I want them shipped out. I don’t want them here and don’t want to take care of them. |
Of course they are going to be in the nice part of town. That’s where the handouts are good and the begging is easy. They can’t get that in a poor part of the city. |
That's why there are no homeless people in Ward 7 & 8. /s |
Ok, one vote for fascism. Anyone else? |
Actually, I second this. I would happily take care of people "from" DC, but as a tri-state area, that also attracts mentally ill people from all over the country, I don't think we should be responsible for everyone. My understanding is that hawaii is pretty tough about this as well. |
I also think you are lucky that you've never encountered actual fascism. ^ |
This is one of the counter intuitive things, where poor folk are actually more generous (selectively) than rich people. |
Agree. Demanding to be able to live without people crapping on the streets is not fascism. |
If we homewith people could just solve the dog poop problem first. I'll wait. |
That’s not what the poster asked. A poster complaine about people being in the nice parts of town |
And we have another snowflake who can’t comprehend the words they type. |
LOL. |
