Hi, I am curious as to what others use as a closing salutation.
I use Regards; however, in a recent thread (cannot recall which) someone mentioned that a co-worker did this and it bothered them. That got me thinking, if not Regards, what then? Best is to "chummy", Sincerely is too "sincere", Kindest Regards is too much. A simple Thank you seems too simple. |
| I use Regards or Best. If someone sends me a rude or pissy email and I'm responding (politely), I always end it with Cheers. 8) |
| "Best" is annoying. |
I agree. I dislike "Best." |
|
Regards is more personal imo, as is "Best"...
I was taught (yrs ago) that "Very Truly Yours" was the standard, and "Sincerely Yours" was a bit more personal for a recipient who you know well/better ... ymmv, of course. ;-o |

PP here ... the above for business correspondence, pre email.
a bit trickier now since, imo, too many don't treat business emails as the business correspondence that they are (not a note to your bud).... So on emails I usually use either Sincerely or Regards for the most part ... |

I hate both Best and Regards. But I can't think of anything better, except Thank You in those situations that actually call for it. Many don't.
So I just do this. -- Suzanne |

I was wondering the same thing after that thread where someone couldn't stand "regards".
I use regards or best regards. |

Switch to "Fo shizzle"
More seriously, how about "Thanks for your time!" |
| Thanks is enough. although nothing is fine too, in my opinion. Why waste the space. Why sign your name. It is clear who it's from, and it's business so get to the point. |
| Kind Regards is what I say on business emails. |
| I use "Ta ta for now, babe" |
| "Have a blessed day!" |
|
Sometimes I would like to close with
Thanks for nothing, Jane |
| No exclamation points are acceptable. |
