need a winter wedding ring - suggestions?

So I know the subject seems funny, and before I get flamed I just want to say that I have big knuckles that can make it hard to get my wedding / engagement rings on and off. For some reason it seems worse in the winter, and that is when I also get dry hands so really need to be able to get the rings on and off in order to be able to put lotion on. Therefore what winds up happening is I just don't wear anything at all for long periods during the winter. But during the summer it fits perfectly, and anything bigger would just roll around on my actual finger, since the knuckle is so much wider than my finger itself.

So I'd like to get something to use during the winter when my regular rings don't work. My actual ring is a very simple band, so I could always just get a larger version of that, but I figured this might also be a chance to buy something a little fun (yet still good for everyday) that I could always wear on my right hand when my wedding ring actually fits.

So any suggestions on what ring you would get in my situation? I'm thinking this will be the perfect gift to ask for on our anniversary.

Have you considered just keeping it on in the winter.

I never take my wedding ring and engagement ring off (exception for surgery where they made me take it off).

Lotion can be applied when you are wearing a ring too.

I agree, I never take my rings off.

A jeweler can attach a little spring thing to the inside of the band so that it doesn't roll around so much, yet you can get it off. They can also hinge it somehow. Larger knuckles become more common as people age (arthritis), so this is not an uncommon problem.

My wedding band (solid metal, no stones or designs) almost never comes off. I don't take it off to shower or apply lotion. My engagement ring does the flopping around when my hands are cold. I think it is about a 1/4 size too big. When it starts to do that, I move it to my right hand, b/c those fingers are a tad larger (stronger maybe?).

Get your husband to buy you a pretty band for your next anniversary in a winter size. Maybe something engraved or with small stones set flush. Not sure what styles you prefer. You could also try estate jewelry if you want something lower cost.

To the PPs who suggest just leaving it on - I understand where you are coming from, but for various reasons to do with my skin and personality I can guarantee you that that just won't happen. I know myself and if I don't have a ring I can get on and off easily there WILL be weeks where I'm not wearing anything.

Thank you - do you have any suggestions for actual pieces, or places to look? My style is fairly clean / straight lined, probably a bit preppy, but also very low maintenance. Thus the reason why I don't really know where to even go to start looking for ideas. My actual wedding ring is a simple platinum band and the engagement ring is a single solitaire (classic 6 prong setting,) but I think I'd be interested in doing something a little more exciting for this versus just trying to recreate my wedding band in a larger size. And probably something that is uniform all around so I don't have to worry about it spinning on my finger.

OP here. Thank you for the suggestion, but those aren't my style. trying to pinpoint why and I'd say those seem a bit art-deco to me (?) and that's not my thing. I don't know enough about jewelry to pinpoint my style there, but in house terms I'm a fan of the simpler foursquare / bungalow styles. (NO idea if that helps, but houses are the one area where I can actually pinpoint my style

Probably what I need to do is just browse a lot of different styles, but I'm not sure where (either in person or online) I would go to do that?

I've heard good things about Tiny Jewel Box in DC. Might be a good starting point to narrow down what you like.

Those are pretty hideous.

OP - head to I. Gorman - they have an amazing selection of rings of all styles. Most people thing of them as having modern jewelry, but they have them in all styles and have the best customer service.

Someone above mentioned Tiny Jewel Box, and I would personally avoid them like the plague. Their selection sucks and their customer service is as snooty as can be.

I have two rings and my second matches my husbands, whereas my first has diamonds and a pattern that my husband's doesn't have.
