Looking for baby furniture stores

I'm trying to find nursery furniture beyond what's available at Babies R Us. Are there any specialty babies/kids furniture stores in the area? I'm not looking for anything particularly crazy upscale - just for some more variety beyond the usual . . .

There is Wren & Divine in McLean. This place was definitely pricier than Babies R Us but I found some nice stuff there and that there were some things that weren't completely outrageous. Closer to the Babies R Us range there's Buy Buy Baby.

Baby 2 Teen in Manassas is great, family owned. They have good sales a couple times a year.

Great Beginnings if you're in Maryland.

Great Beginnings in Gaithersburg has an incredible selection and is definitely worth a trip. Google them for directions and hours - I don't think they are open on Sunday. Oh and they except Buy Buy Baby Coupons.

Buy Buy Baby being the other place I'd suggest - it's in Congressional Plaza on Rockville Pike. I think they also have a location in Springfield VA but for some reason I'm not sure that they carry everything there.

We bought our baby furniture at Bellini in Rockville. Pricey but good quality...

I spend a lot of time in baby stores as I had 3 kids in 3 1/2 years. My top recommendation which a PP mentioned is Great Beginnings in Gaithersburg. They are open M-Sat. Their customer service is excellent and they have a great selection of cribs, dressers, changing tables, armoires, etc. BBB also has a pretty good selection.

I like Daisy Baby in Bethesda a lot. Beautiful furniture and excellent customer service but slightly on the pricier side. Bellini in Rockville also has a good selection as well as Wren and Divine.

Good luck!

Target.com has some good things too, and they deliver!

I second Buy Buy Baby and Great Beginnings. FOr high end also look at Dawn Price Baby and online at posh tots.

We just got our crib and changer at Buy Buy Baby in Springfield, VA, and were very pleased with the customer service, selection, variety (Range of cheaper to more expensive). Be sure to ask for a 20% or 5% discount or get a coupon (they have them on ebay for cheap). 5% off on Ragazzi and 20% off Mother Hubbard Cupboard brands...good quality and sturdy.

I'm also super psyched because I found a Nava's Designs crib set (retail price $1100) on the clearance rack...between BBB's 50% off clearance, a 30% off additional markdown, and my 20% off coupon, I got it for about $120!!! IMAGINE!

There are more there for BOYS...go get them! Great deal!

We went with simple and light weight baby furniture and got our furniture from Amazon.com. They were reasonably priced, and some items were free shipping and no sales tax. The main disadvantage is that you have to put the furniture together. However, because we ordered simple stuff, that wasn't a big deal.

Another vote for Buy Buy Baby. Our crib was delivered this weekend and we could not be happier. We were also not impressed with the quality and customer service at Babies R Us. Buy Buy Baby was awesome. The sales clerk in the furniture department spent 45 minutes with us (on a busy Saturday) explaining everything about cribs and matresses. We thought they had great quality for the price. You will spend more than Babies R Us, but not as much as at a specialty shop, and the brands are very well made. If you buy Baby Bargains (the book) you will see a lot of the "A" brands at Buy Buy Baby. (As an aside, I highly recommend that book for crib shopping, if you don't have it already.)

Great Beginnings has very nice stuff but a lot of it is quite expensive. I was not very impressed with the selection at Buy Buy Baby, but then I learned that they also have a ton of catalogs that you can order from, if you ask to see them in the store. We ended up getting some very nice stuff (more modern than their in-store selection) just ordering from the catalog and having it delivered to the store.

If you are in VA, I second the vote for Baby-2-Teen in Manassas. They have a large store and their selection covers a variety of price ranges.

Potterybarnkids.com has some nice items as well and has things well priced on sale from time to time. They have stuff online and at their stores.
