My 2 cents on what is going on: it seems almost undeniable there are marital issues at play. We’ve been drip fed tidbits about strife in the marriage for about a year now. Obviously there’s the Rose rumors. And them generally looking unhappy in public together. Then the more recent drip drops of a disagreement between the two related to George’s schooling. These leaks mean something. And then, there Will issuing statements on his personal crest (which apparently is unprecedented). And then the weird “personal matter” excuse. Then the random Independent article yesterday reminding us of Rose’s existence. Photogate, obviously.

I have no idea how Kate’s health situation and Kingston’s death relate to any of this (if at all), but yeah, the totality of the circumstances suggests a major marital breakdown. Yes, each thing I’ve listed has a possible alternate explanation, but I’d be shocked if they are not divorcing or on the brink of divorce.

Unlike some PPs, I don’t necessarily think this is DV or ED-related. Either of those would surprise me, but I admit there have been some Easter eggs planted that make the DV theory not *completely* deranged.

Poor Kate. The thought of losing my kids to an institution would wreck me. I don’t care that she “signed up” for it.

Yes that's been the word for some time (well before her surgery). They live largely separate lives. He is in London and spends time alone or with friends, she's at Adelaide with the kids and her parents. There is limited overlap in their charity efforts and they come together for high profile events like Earthshot or the BAFTAs but most of their public appearances are solo. And actually, Kate even skipped the trip to Singapore for Earthshot last year (said she was staying back to help George through exams) and William went solo.

Some people have speculated this is just the natural progression for them as William gets closer to the throne and his schedule becomes heavier. Others have speculated it reflects a rift and, because it's the BRF and the question is always raised, talked infidelity.

I was more in the first camp before but the way this whole thing has played out has been very odd and now I wonder if the rumors of a rift were correct. There certainly has not been a united front presented and William, in particular, seems out of sorts. It could just be stress of his wife's and dad's illnesses, which would be understandable. But they keep reassuring the public that Kate's recovering fine, and Charles has been seem publicly enough via video that it doesn't seem like he's at death's door. That leaves family and marital strife as an explanation. I am starting to think that's likely, and Harry's brief visit to his dad after the cancer diagnosis (but no meeting with William) also makes that more likely to me.

This is all eventually coming to light. This is a legitimate source, and the truly vituperative coverage began in 2017.

It would make a blockbuster movie plot where Meghan was indeed selected to propagate some one world agenda and her conscious coupling with Harry was facilitated to create a young power couple with ingredients of fame, royalty, globalism, race, beauty, charm, pedigree, charity etc to cultivate a cult. Brexit was a planned move and celebrity billionaires who adopted them are part of the secret group. Things didn't turn out as planned and royal family doesn't fit in that vision so Kate was used to make it happen. A bot army would be an interesting touch. Seriously, that would break Netflix.

Is it really insane speculation ? What’s insane is doctoring photos and expecting nobody in the world would notice . Kate is practically a recluse anyway and rarely does appearances in public so Why did The Palace need to fake photos? The Sunday Mothers Day photos were not needed or asked by anyone. The Palace is the one who put the stupid return date of Easter for when Kate will resume public duties.

If they'd just posted a photo of Kate with the kids from November or December (something clearly dated to that time, like a pic from the Carole service) and a note from William and Catherine thanking everyone for the well wishes and wishing them a happy Mother's Day, I think it would have been a non-issue. Yes there were some nutters on Twitter having fun with #whereiskate but there's no reason to take that seriously if everything is actually fine.

Going to the lengths they went to set off alarm bells for many of us who were previously unconcerned or disinterested.

Actually, the least complicated is to take what they are saying at face value. You can do this and also see that they think they can still operate under QE2 rules and expectations in terms of medical privacy, but this is 2024 and QE2 ruels don't apply anymore.

Easter is still weeks away. The way this is going, I don't see how they can keep up this charade until then. I really thought Kate would pop up sometime after Easter looking happy and healthy like nothing ever happened... but that seems less and less likely now.

I was vaguely aware that Kate had had some surgery, but until 2 days ago didn't know anything else. Now I've read the bulk of this thread and am deep down the rabbit hole.
It would have been SO easy to post a quick "thanks for all the Mothers Day well wishes as I continue to recover!" on the official instragram account, and no one would have thought twice, outside the crazies who are always crazy.

That's literally a 10 minute drive down the desolate country lane to Houghton Hall (where the Cholmondeley's live on a much bigger estate).

Anmer Hall is far from the City's top doctors; it would make more sense to "recover" at Windsor. I'm wondering if she purposely set up shop there with her parents to disrupt William's plans to see Rose, who has three young kids and live at Houghton Hall full time.
