More Christian Hypocracy

A list of a bunch of tragedies that have happened, from Hurricaine Katrina to the Aurora shootings, with some loudmouth Christian mouthpiece saying the sufferers brought it on themselves with their ungodliness.

Christian = bigot. See the story about the church in Mississippi who refused to have a wedding between two black parishoners because in their 100+ history, they'd never allowed such a thing.

Not this Christian.

OP broden your mind!

First of all, it's "hypocrisy." And just because the right has co-opted Christianity doesn't mean all Christians are bigots. I think the left needs to reclaim Christianity. Progressive social reform needs Christianity to carry it along. The civil rights movement led by MLK was carried out by progressive Christians, both black and white.

OMG the spelling ...

+1.

Christian hypocrisy is ugly. But OP, if this is your monolithic view of Christians, then you too meet the definition of "bigot." Sorry!

How any anyone even begin to entertain a response with spelling like that?

OMG I'm laughing so hard at the title I could not even start reading the thread itself

BWAHAHAHAHA

OP here: I state as I see. The only Christians I've met who are not narrow-minded are the ones who don't throw their beliefs in my face all the time.

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” -Ghandi

Was Ghandi a bigot too?

Ghandi could spell. Don't you dare to compare yourself to him.

You must not get out much.

In fact, you're ignoring the Christians here who agree it's hypocrisy -- so maybe you're part of the general bigotry problem in this country.

Answer the question. And "let he who is without sin (apparently on DCUM, spelling errors are sins) cast the first stone." Have you never EVER made a mistake in your life? Typical fake-ass Christian response from you. A real Christian wouldn't condemn me, they'd forgive me. You don't even know about your own religion.

OP, you seem like a nuanced and deep thinker. I'm totally surprised nobody here is interested in debating the finer points of theology with you.

Agree with all the PPs. Also wanted to note, OP, that the rest of that quote, which everybody seems to always forget, is, "Go and SIN NO MORE" (emphasis added). People love to forget this part. I tire of people using this fragment for their own purposes. End sidenote.

Now, as to your original question: I agree with all of the PPs, esp. PP 10:59.

Thoughtful Christians (liberal or conservative) ) get your point and would agree with Ghandi...

"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips then walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."
