They sell our military aid and technology to the Russians and Chinese, provoke other countries and expect them to back them up, are ungrateful and demand huge sums of money. Yet our leaders are forced to bow to them. Watching mitt run over there and Barack resign the military bill makes me wonder why such a small and relatively insignificant nation has us by the balls.

No shit they are not allies and look out only for themselves. Is any politician going to have the balls to disagree with Israel or raise any questions about giving "aid" to such a developed nation. As long as money is the key element for winning elections, the answer to my question will be No!

Israel is a fucked up situation but mainly because of its internal conflicts betweeen the secular and the ultra conservative maniacs that dictate social policy and breed a dangerous sense of entitlement there. It will all implode into civil war eventually.

The Jewish lobby is so powerful in this country that no politician dares to piss them off. My Israel friends think the US is stupid to send billions there every year without much influence.

OF COURSE Israel would be one of our allies in a world war. They don't want to be wiped off the planet.

Everyone has a buddy who gets them into trouble - borrows their money and never repays, starts a situation in a bar and gets everyone thrown out. He doesn't pay the phone bill and you wake up one day to find your phone disconnected. He's the guy who you are always apologizing for. And he's your friend because no one else is going to take care of him so you do.

Israel may be our friend, but that's because they depend on us so much. And there is a huge cost to us and we have to wonder what we get in return. I understand the need for Israel's existence and so I tolerate it. But let's face facts, there is a whole region where we would have more freedom and less war if they all moved to America.

Israel has nuclear subs and a badass military. They invented the virus that shut down irans nuke plants. Hitler made the mistake of underestimating the Jews . They ended up inventing the nuclear bomb. Isreal is our most powerful ally.
