I feel like actresses with delicate, pretty features and good bones look better with short hair. They look pretty with long hair, but it sort of overwhelms them, and they are striking with short hair.

IME, I did and for years, many people including coworkers assumed I was gay. I found myself being hit on by many more lesbians than before. Later, I got married and introduced my coworker to my husband and she said “Marrried?! But what about Larla?” She had always assumed I was gay and dating my best friend/co-worker.

I don’t why people would just make that assumption over hair. I would never do it again. It didn’t matter that I worked makeup and jewelry. Just having short hair confused too many people.

Sadly, the same thing happened to my DD. I saw it coming, but she wanted it so I said ok. She loved the cut, but after a year of people calling her "Bud," "Dude," and a guy, she started growing it out.

Because it's faster and easier to pull your hair back/up than to style a short haircut every day (unless it's crazy-short). Leaving it long also gives you more options--up or down depending on your mood and the occasion. Once you go short you're stuck with it.

You also have to get it cut very frequently if it's very short. I had a pixie for years (and I'm not pretty or slim) but I look better with shorter hair because I don't have nice hair. It's baby fine and thin so it needs to be chin length or shorter to look normal. I left the pixie behind because I couldn't get to the salon often enough

People are just so stupid. Long, stick straight hair like all the girls wear now is just so basic and boring. It takes self-confidence to choose a different style than everyone else. I respect girls who choose to stand out rather than blend in. If some moron thinks they’re a lesbian, that says more about their ignorance than anything else.
