Says the member of the party that just disenfranchised 40% of Virginia voters.

Y’all don’t even hear yourselves, do ya?

Uh my point is you don't actually care about voters without representation. Cry harder.

And that’s how DC got its first White mayor…

Not OP but some MAGA wrote an op-ed suggesting Trump can executive order Arlington back to DC from Virginia to fix the gerrymandering race they’re about to lose. I will try to find it.

Found it

I’m not crying. I live in Maryland. We’ve been gerrymandered in favor of democrats since time began.

DC has had white mayors.

It’s amazing the lengths the GOP will go to to avoid accountability to the voters. Virginia is purple enough that a decent Republican candidate could have a shot at winning these bizarrely shaped districts, and yet they keep trying shove the MAGA Christian nationalists who brutalize women and minorities and launch needless foreign wars as their candidates.

We’re just not that into you, bro!

I love this idea in exchange for statehood.

Well, we should promise statehood in exchange for DC getting its missing pieces back in the deal - but once it’s done, change our minds about statehood.

Exactly like how Abigail changed her mind on redistricting.

These districts - the bizarrely shaped ones, as you yourself called them - are drawn specifically to include a solid majority of democrats in each one.

A republican will never win them. Any of them.

And that was the whole point of it.

Do you regret that your Republican representatives rejected a ban on gerrymandering now? Or is it only when Democrats win that you have regrets

Never let any Republican whining about VA forget that Republicans refused to back Democratic proposals to ban partisan gerrymandering nationwide. Never let any whining Republican forget that Republicans have a trifecta and could ban gerrymandering tomorrow if they wanted to.

These whiny babies don't actually care about representation or fairness or anything like that. They're only whining because their side lost. That's all.

How is Va going to make up all that lost tax revenue? NOVA funds the entire state. You remove Arlington and Alexandria and good luck funding all the programs that actually help the more rural parts of the state.

Also the 10-1 referendum would still have passed even without all the votes in Arlington and Alexandria.

Not since time began, since REDMAP began. Again, the Republicans started it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/REDMAP
