1) I’m glad Abigail Spanberger is Governor instead of Winsome Earle-Sears.

2) You are 100 times more likely to be murdered by a U.S. citizen than by an immigrant.

There should be a 0% chance of being killed by a person in the country illegally. It shouldn’t even be an option.

Spanberger has been governor for 2 months.

If someone wants to run against Descano, fine. He came close to being primaries last time. But we're referencing police emails from April 2024 which notably was not when Spanberger was governor.

Spamberger wants to hide the illegals and protect them even more so it's going to get worse

Again, immigrants are less likely to commit crimes. ICE is wasting money and time going after 5 year olds instead of following the standard prosecutorial procedures that have been place for decades.

The same party that screams it isn’t a criminal offense to be in the country illegally, needs to recognize that the civil remedy is detaining and deportation.

No prosecution is needed. Detain -> deport.

Tennessee. And it is wonderful!! Mountains close by. Lots of land. Great people.

DP. These all sound like reasonable subjective reasons to move, but don’t move because you think crime will be less in Tennessee.

Tennessee vs. Virginia Crime Rates (2024 FBI/State Data, per 100,000 residents)

- Murder/Homicide Rate
Tennessee: ~8–10 (high, driven by cities like Memphis at ~40.6)
Virginia: ~4.8 (declined from prior years)

- Violent Crime Rate (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault)
Tennessee: 592 (top 5 nationally)
Virginia: ~190–234 (well below national average; ~7% drop from 2023)

- Property Crime Rate (burglary, larceny, vehicle theft)
Tennessee: ~2,032 (elevated, esp. in urban areas)
Virginia: Lower (national avg. ~1,760; VA consistently safer)

Bottom line: Tennessee's serious crime rates remain 2–3× higher than Virginia's overall, though both states saw declines in 2024. (Sources: FBI estimates, USAFacts, state reports.)

Tennessean here. Yes - cities like Memphis and recently, Nashville- have driven up the crime rate. The recent crackdown in Memphis with bringing in the National Guard has been very successful. Both cities are governed by democrats- and some of the same liberal policies that have impacted crime rates in other cities are at play here too. Having said that - there are many areas of our state that are very safe for all residents. I’m in East Tennessee and we have wonderful law enforcement and very little crime - property crime or violent crime. I am more fearful of coyote than I am of being a victim of crime.

I was going to say something similar. Remove the crime stats from Memphis and rate is probably the same if not lower.

Nice try. You can blame Descano and the other insane prosecutors who care more about criminals than victims. And if you think Spanberger is going to make things better, boy do I have news for you.

Gov. Spanberger's office tells @NickMinock she won't honor an ICE detainer for an illegal alien with 30+ prior arrests, including rape, who is accused of murdering a woman at a bus stop. She wants ICE to get a judicial warrant - which isn't possible unless there is suspicion of *FEDERAL CRIME*. Murder, rape, etc are largely state crimes. It's remarkable how few politicians understand how this works. A federal judicial warrant can only be signed off on by a federal judge if there is probable cause that a FEDERAL CRIME has been committed.

Dude, nobody in their right mind is cooperating with ICE. ICE has burned any good will by shooting citizens in the street, telling egregious lies in the face of mountains of evidence of their misdeeds, tearing gassing infants, and countless other misdeeds. Really, I’m much more concerned about my safety from ICE agents than immigrants.

Hey, friend. Do a little research.
In the cities and states where the leaders cooperate with ICE (and there are many of them), there isn’t violence and very very few issues. You don’t hear about those BECAUSE of the cooperation.
It is the states that DON’T cooperate (like Minnesota and Massachusetts) where the leaders encourage the public to actively resist where issues arise.

You mean like Texas? Bodycam video contradicts ICE claims in fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Ruben Ray Martinez in Texas https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bodycam-video-ice-fatal-shooting-ruben-ray-martinez-texas/

Really, stop trying to defend the indefensible. It just makes you sound like a coward.

Sure they are. Tens of thousands of criminal aliens have been arrested. Child predators. Murderers. Aliens with DUI infractions. Rapists.
And they are also picking up those with final deportation orders. And if there happens to be others around who are illegally here they get them too.
This is what happens when you allow in millions without vetting like Biden did.

You know there's actual facts, right?

They had existing systems in place to prioritize criminal holds and they wrecked them.

The lies that MAGAs tell.

Only ~15% had violent charges/convictions.

PP doesn't mind getting raped or murdered - as long as it isn't by an "illegal alien".

If this administration was really interested in deporting as many illegals as possible, why doesn't it do workplace audits in industries like agriculture and construction? Roaming through grocery store parking lots seems like a really inefficient way to accomplish large scale deportations.

They do. And the wacky protesters hate that too.
Remember the pot farm crack down where illegal aliens were found working AND child labor was happening? Or the Hyundai plant raid that resulted in 500 arrests?
Lots of the most heinous criminals don’t work at these establishments. They make their living through child and sex trafficking.
