This is the one I’m planning on going to, for those in Maryland: PetVet at Tractor Supply Company Poolesville Vital Health Package Vitals Check (quick exam) 5-in-1 Vaccine + Lepto Bordetella Vaccine Intestinal Parasite Screening (fecal test) $118 + $38 Lyme = $156 |
| Quit getting so many vaccines at once? So bad for your dogs too. |
Quit with your anti-vax nonsense. The dogs are fine, thanks. |
Are you doing yearly vaccines? Once an adult you can do them every 3 years or longer if you do a titer and their immune levels are appropriate. Also are you buying their hw and flea meds all at once for the year? |
|
Titers cost more than the vaccines themselves!!! Yes, immunity typically lasts longer than 1 year (3 years if the DHPP or Rabies), but blood testing is expensive.
For those of you complaining about cost of vet medicine, but want little Fluffy cared for with the intelligence and comprehensive diagnostics and treatments, do you realize the paradox? You want the best care for your pet, yet you are unwilling to pay for what that costs.... If you are okay with no true examination - go to a Doc-in-a-box vaccine clinic and wrap your arms around that fact. It will be cheaper - in more ways than one. If you want quality care, you need to pay for quality care. Why is that surprising? More and more, people want their pets to live longer, happier lives....that doesn't happen by accident. The veterinarians and staff that provide that care deserve to be paid for their time and expertise. |
| We go to either the county shelter or Vetco (this is at Petco, they have a vet come there on the weekends to do vaccines). I pay around $100-150 for everything. I also do just the basics, I don’t do fecal tests or heartworm or anything. Basically just the vaccines I need to take my dog to boarding. |
