Buy Repettos or literally any other shoe in France. Quality is superior to 99% of the shoes available in the USA.

I have these and they are super comfortable and flattering both with dresses and pants. They look clunky in the photo but are actually quite light weight. The fact that they are a platform makes them extremely wearable.

I don't know if these would work with somewhat dressy cocktail attire, but I love them.
