Bro, stop. Anyone at their wits end with an animal crapping in their house could resort to this "old school" training approach. People don't have to be perfect to have pets. It's not a "serious anger issue" or "too much testosterone for sure", it's just simple ignorance. Quit fueling drama. |
Some dogs, yeah. Or they think it's something to be rolled in, which is a natural instinct. |

Who does that to an animal?
That's abusive. |
This was never the primary recommended method. Source: I am old as dirt. What doesn't work now didn't work then. |
| That nose in poop method is a myth. |

I've kept my dogs on a strict routine to the point where they wake me up starting at 5:45 ish because that's when they want to be fed. 1st thing in the morning.
Then they all poop. I keep them in their segregated spaces just because I have 9 animals altogether. The thing that kills me every morning is that after I put out my largest dog on a lead and bring him back in, his pen mate has already pooped on a pad and if I'm not fast to swipe it up ... the larger dog will automatically snap up and eat the smaller dog's fresh poop. It's as awful as it sounds like to witness |

Shoving the dogs face in the poop is a very old fashioned "method" of training a dog not to poop indoors. It's like physically disciplining your kids, it was done years ago but now we know better.
Your DH just sounds inexperienced with animals. Try a different approach with the dog and give your DH a second chance too.
