Eddie Bauer -- filed for bankruptcy

I remember carrying their backpacks in middle school in the early 90s. Those backpacks lasted!

Around 1990 or 1991 I got a full-length (mid-calf) black leather coat with detachable quilted lining. After I got mine, I saw Hillary Clinton photographed in one during the New Hampshire primary campaign, lol.
It was my go to work coat in the 90s and 2000s.
It is still beautiful and I still wear it when a parka is too casual, eg dinner downtown.

You can still buy stuff online. Amazon has really hurt these brands.

This. They've really gone downhill. I tried a handful of items over the past few years and sent all back. But I have 100% wool sweaters from many years ago and they've all held up great.

Same here. Eddie Baure used to be good like 20 years ago. For the last 8 years or so- going downhill in quality. Last time I went there was probably 2 years ago and never looked back.

And yes, I've worn it for about 20 of those years (I pull it out on occasion.) It has not been a premium brand for years, though. It turned into cheap made in china stuff you could get anywhere.

Me too. Still wearing the parka I bought there 15 years ago. I'm not sure I have bought anything else there except duffel bags years ago.

Not a huge customer but I too have bought parkas from Eddie Bauer that held up well.
