Drinking is much worse it’s just normalized. |
If you have extreme dense breasts, MRI is now standard. |

| +1 to this |
| In your shoes, i would focus very hard on seeing if there were other ways to improve sleep and give that a try for a few months before going to hormones. |
Gyn recommends for osteopenia |
| I think you need an RX calcium before HRT at this point. And if you have never been on HRT, 54 is prety late to start. Especially if you went into menopause in your earlier 50s... |
On of my best friends died of breast cancer at 52. So horrific. |

Op, in your shoe, I would try Wegovy or Ozempic.
Overweight is a risk for many types of cancer,. This may improve sleep once you lose the lbs. So, no hormones! How about WW? They also can provide the meds to support weight loss. |
It doesn’t sound like she’s overweight. She was 100 pounds and gained 20 pounds so she’s 120? Unless she’s extremely short she’s probably not overweight. It’s my understanding that the risk is about .4% if you start it before menopause, and waiting to start hormones in menopause the risk is even less. I do think people on this thread and in general greatly underestimate the risk of alcohol from breast cancer. There’s been a flood of studies in the past year and more coming that show even having a couple drinks a week significantly raises your risk. Alcohol is a major carcinogen we just have been conditioned to think it’s not. |

So
Much misinformation on this thread |
I have been in menopause for a month - OP |
| Ask your doctor |
This is OP- I am definitely not overweight. I was thin my entire life (100-105) and then gained 15lbs last few years. I am 5'5" but many "thin" women have bone density issues. |
Against HRT or for? |
