Other than giving data as promotion of a particular league what other purpose does he gain by continuing? He has to be backed somehow by ECNL, right?

I'm sure peddles "recruiting services" trying to convince players that only he can get you into a top school.

I don’t think they do. I’ve never seen an advertisement.

I believe last year someone said that he was an ECNL coach. If this is the case he's just trying to protect his job. Which most likely is the worst ECNL team possible and has no chance at D1 players.

I saw the same thing that they were an ECNL coach, but I disagree with your second point. They just might be really invested in the recruiting process and highlighting facts that are relevant to them.

My experience is that top ECNL coaches tend to back their club before the league. My experience has also been that the worst ECNL coaches tend to be the ones with the full ECNL kit including headband and bumper sticker. I put IMYS guy in the 2nd category.

Fair assessment - I don't know who they are, but the data is still helpful even if cherry picked to the extreme.

Who is IMYS Guy?
Anonymous
I am Youth Soccer posting to various social platforms. Claims to be providing the "truth" about college admissions pathways for soccer players, but as you can see from this thread is controversial. Look up that term on FB/IG/Twitter and you will find more info.

You do prove a good point that the OP was being intentionally obtuse/limiting the audience with the IMYS acronym that almost no one will know.

*sorry vague not obtuse

Anonymous wrote:I see IMYS guy on twitter and IG is back in full ECNL mode. Last year he seemed to start to not be so blatantly ECNL, but he's back in full ECNL this spring. He is going away from full D1 for 2027 and now only focusing on P4 D1 (as it makes the ECNL argument easier). Regardless, even using 2026 data that 1816 players committed to D1, almost 50% of the commits come from 45 total clubs (ENCL and GA, obviously ENCL is leading).

The entire notion is ECNL gets you to D1 - but it's truly a bunch of clubs that do. The top 80 clubs (all leagues) in the country account for 1186 of the 1816 commits.

The class of 2027 would be a step up in total D1 commits for GA (thus the reason IMYS is only doing P4 for 2027) and it would grow by every class. ECNL will be still be the best overall as they have the big, big clubs. But the fake unbiased opinion of IMYS is an old shtick at this point.

He literally just did a post about GA Clubs and D1 commitments.

Ok SYC 2013 Dad. Have fun in the 4th bracket of Jeff Cup:
Top bracket: 1 GA, 7 ECNL
2nd: 5 ECNL, 1 GA, 1 Aspire
3rd: 4 ENCL, 4 GA
4th: 6 ECNL, 2 GA
Jeff Cup is run by an ECNL club. Obviously, they will take care of their buddies.

True.

GA visors are going to be so mad when they see the latest post from this guy. He’s just sharing data though.

ECNL attendance has also been in decline. But of course he won’t post that data. What is it called when you cherry pick data to fit a narrative?

His data is trash and using AI to create graphics. This guy is legit such a loser and main character

Last night the IMYS took down his instagram account. He had posted the above graphic and then fought in the comment section with anyone who had a question about his method for gathering or presenting his data. It was very clear from his comments that he is acting as a propaganda arm for ECNL, not a credible or intelligent source of information.

I saw that too, I don't follow the account but it started to trend so it hit my feed. Odd that he removed his account with over 25k followers instead of just deleting the post. That guy is a clown and now he's using AI to create made up graphics.
