What is your childcare plan and why isn’t it in place? Oh I see. FCPS is your childcare.

i don’t have a childcare plan for 2 weeks. i have no family close by. my husband leaves extremely early for work. we aren’t part of SACC. what do you expect me to do? i work part time. from 9:30-3:30 while my kids are in school. on days where they are scheduled off i take off. but days where they don’t go in until 11:20 i can’t show up at work at 12. it doesn’t work. and fcps wasn’t even telling families until 4pm daily earlier in the week. i am sure a lot of families are struggling with the late starts. maybe not middle school who goes early or high school who can get themselves to school. but for elementary it’s hard. not to mention kids are behind in learning, teachers say there isn’t time to get it all done, kids are missing weeks of specials. it’s winter. we live in an area where we get snow. it’s been 2 weeks since we had snow. it’s time to go back to a normal schedule

As much as I sympathize with your situation, I think it’s a risk to open on time if the bus stops still aren’t clear. Reid may take that risk though.

My neighborhood is good, but it’s a big county so I can’t pretend to know what it is like elsewhere.

Still sidewalks needing to be shoveled around our school and as the snow melts and deep freezes we have black ice in the morning. Too cold on Monday, two hour delay.

I grew up in New England. My street had no sidewalks. It snowed alot. We went to school

Why? It's going to be fine.

Who cares about New England?

When was that? The 1980s? Parents in this area at this time are rabidly litigious, so if a kid gets badly hurt… well, FCPS would want to avoid that scenario.

Yeah, that’s my dad would say, too, when catastrophe was on the horizon, so, I’m sorry, but those words are not reassuring.

My kids still cannot walk to school due to the uncleared sidewalks and massive ice piles at intersections. But that isnt going to change any time soon. I have to drive them because we are too close for bus service. But walking is hazardous. Its so frustrating.

I wouldn't mind a 2 hour delay after the super bowl personally.

Oh my god, they'd better be on time.

This is such a ridiculous post. They said they will be on time on Monday. End of discussion

They said that they plan to open on time and will give an update on Sunday afternoon, so not quite end of discussion.

I’ll be shocked if they open on time in single digit temperatures.

get your husband's mistress to take them. he probably leaves early every day to go see her; or maybe, him?
